This is an article I never wanted to write. This article is not party political, it is not even about the game. This is an article about a moral crisis. Do you want a community in which people are sent abuse? Is the above now acceptable conduct? Will you do something about it?

Whatever your political party, whoever your friends are, if you are not willing to actively challenge homophobia and abuse then you are the problem. That includes the Country President.

My involvement in this is simple - the first example of blatant homophobic language was used against me in a private message with SHA.

I reported this to Huey who spoke to SHA. My intention was for this matter to remain private and be dealt with quietly. After Huey spoke with him, he got worse. There are now over three examples (that I am aware of) of this individual being deliberately negative towards the LGBTQ+ community.

SHA has been granted over three chances by our CP and still nothing has been done. This is unacceptable.

However people dress it up this example was the start of a tirade of abuse directed at minorities. This copy and pasted info from a wikipedia page is not big, it is not clever, and it isn’t funny - it’s transparent bigotry. The two further anti-gay insults were not directed at me and demonstrate a pattern of homophobic behaviour. This would have been the last word many LGBTQ+ people heard before they were murdered. A word which has driven many many people to suicide. There are people in eRep and the eUK who will have family and friends who have died as a result of it. It is unacceptable to direct it as an insult - especially on a game..

This is on top of weeks of abuse, condescending, gas lighting, bullying and insults he hurls. What he says in private is worse than what he has said in public.

Why should people have to have this abuse hurled at them when they play a game? The truth is equally sad. SHA is allowed to behave like this because the community lets him.

Well not me, no more. There's no point being silent or quiet about it now he is a vile bully and anyone defending him and protecting him is complicit in this homophobic, abusive attacks on players.


The Country President: Huey is a pleasant person who has thanklessly held down the fort in a time when parties and candidates were waning. We now have a more active political module and community - this has demanded more shows of leadership and more decision making from the Government who have struggled to meet that challenge. This however was not a difficult decision to make.


His Party President: I also call on Certacito to consider whether someone who holds such views is fit to be Vice Party President of UKRP. Would it also be acceptable to run as a representative and Congress candidate especially given SHA behaviour in the congress chat.

I urge the whole community this will continue if we let it. I for one will always stand on the side of the oppressed and bullied. Will you?
