Disaster in Asia?

After some initial success, Operation Gangam Style has hit a snag and now teeters on the brink.

The Americans attacked the border region of Jeollanam-do and easily took the region, winning 88-0 against Taiwan. The next day followed with an attack on the grain region of Jeollabuk-do, and it again resulted in an easy win for the Americans, 88-0. The third day, they continued their push on Taiwan by invading the region of Gyeongsangnam-do, however Taiwan managed to stop the United States cold, dominating the battle 85-14.

American attacks on the Korean peninsula.

While Taiwan was losing battles to the United States, they opened a Resistance War in the region of Chugoku. This region serves as the bridge between Japan and the Korean peninsula.
After some heavy tanking, Taiwan purposefully lost the region meaning that American forces would not be able to move into Japan.
This was a minor setback, but certainly not a campaign killer. After all, South Korea still needs to be liberated, and although the plan is to enter Japan to push Taiwan out, the United States can only work on one objective at a time.

After the loss of Gyeongsangnam-do, the United States also lost initiative in the war with Taiwan. This was an important loss, because having initiative allows you to start battles when more of your population is online and available to fight. With their newly won initiative, Taiwan was able to open the next battle in time slots much more favorable to them, and it paid off with a win in Jeollabuk-do. This was a highly contested battle, but thanks to EDEN tanks, Taiwan managed to get the win 83-50.

The loss of Jeollabuk-do means that the United States only has one region left in Korea, their original landing spot of Jeollanam-do. When it became apparent that Taiwan was going to beat the Americans in battle, they opened a Resistance War in the last American held region. This battle is still ongoing, and if lost the American campaign in Asia will be all but over.

Conclusion
Right now, everything hinges on the Resistance War in Jeollanam-do. If the United States loses this region, it will put South Korea back on the map, thereby severing the border between the United States and Taiwan. Obviously, the loss of border would mean the end of the war.
If the United States can retain control of the region, then Taiwan will be forced to attack it and the war will continue. Whether the Americans can stop Taiwan and the EDEN tanks, remains to be seen.

Taiwan clearly does not want to be involved in a protracted war with the United States. It’s a war they can’t win without serious EDEN support. The Resistance in South Korea represents their best chance of ending it.
