Kitty here! So as EVERYONE knows. Work Tax is all the talk. 25% to gain us money to pay for Combat Orders that will get us much needed damage against Poland. Some people cringe at that number. Downright ready to leave the country over that number. Now I personally feel that you do whatever it takes to free your own country. SO! I got to thinking.. and that led me here.
What would you do to save your own country? What would you give up? What would spend? There are some (I’m sure I don’t need to name their names.) who have pulled out their credit cards and paid dearly. Others have given up time. Others are willing to spend whatever it takes from their personal funds to fight. And there is always the ones who want the tax.
Ah.. The Work Tax. Talk about getting people in an uproar. Which in a way is good. Uproars mean people care. They aren’t just rolling over and offering up their hind side. So that is something totally worth keeping in mind. The simple fact of giving a hoot. (Sometimes I seriously wish I could cuss in my articles.)
Problem is the money has to be there. The money needs to come from somewhere. So if not work tax - where? There has to be a place to get the needed funds. Yes the economy sucks, but let’s face it. Without the regions being regained the bonuses won’t magically reappear. Without the bonuses we don’t produce more goods. We all can agree we want more goods. Yes?
Good! So donate the money. That’s right. Donate. Your. CC’s. Think about it like this. We have at least 1,000 active people around. If EVERY ONE of those people where to donate 1,000cc. We would have a million CC. ONE MILLION CC. And if more donated - well we’d have even more money for those precious CO.
I also know that people are concerned with accountability. Which is why I’m willing to accept the donations. I’ll put your name down. RIGHT HERE where everyone sees. Along with how much. When CO’s are needed, BOOM money goes in. Then magical CO’s come out. That said - I know a good number of you see no reason to trust me. Fair enough. I even have a solution for that.
Find someone you do trust - get together with friends. Donate to that person. Then follow the DoD and donate the money to those battles for CO. Put up an article monitoring these funds as well. Cash in on damage. KA-CHING!
Seriously guys - What I am saying here is that. Something HAS to give. The money HAS to exist. If you don’t want to go the easy way. Then this is the next course of action. If you have other ideas - let’s hear them. Besides the old.. We shouldn’t fight. Cause.. that’s lame. You don’t just give up. It’s a game. You keep playing. You have fun. You fight on. You kick booty!

The problem with CO's is most of the time you can't collect on them cause the wall is over 52%.I usually end up fighting battles which I know are going to lose just to get the CO.I find that your argument for higher taxes for CO's is narrow minded. That's not an insult, just an observation.
Eh... from ALL the discussion I've seen. That was the main reason they ask for the 25% tax. I'm trying to find an alternative.
I will agree that CO's can be rough on claiming, BUT if you can't even claim them.. then at least we are winning the battles.
I fight daily. I spend every CC and bar of gold I have purchasing weapons and food in order to fight. There are two other taxes, VAT that is currently 5% on food and weapons making for a 10% tax of both. If you want to raise something raise Import Taxes to 5% and make the tax a 15% tax of both. Personally I could use a donation of both food and weapons.
Then you would have no reason to donate. Are you applying to FTW to get a boost with food?
And - I don't CARE where the money comes from. I just know the money is needed. The idea of donations is to try and have people donate enough money to not need the tax to go to 25%.
no point, import taxes do not go in the country coffers, the admins steal that from years, because the "bot" that never existed was being used to generate money with 99% import taxes. Some countries made millions before the admins fix the issue by not adding import tax income to country accounts.
Morgan, it doesn't work that way. You don't add the rates without also rolling the categories together. A 5% rate is a 5% rate. A 5% rate on everything is a 5% rate on everything. >>;
Seems to me a 5% Work Tax and a 5% Value Added Tax is a total of 10%. One paid at production by the company owner and one paid when it is sold by the purchaser. Anyway you look at it a 10% tax is being paid.
VAT is added on top for sales, yes, and import for people with foreign cs selling in our market. Where do you imagine up the other 5%? Also, import tax in no way impacts the vast majority of us.

The work tax does not translate directly over like that, you can't simply add it on as such. The way it functions is completely different.
Although, Kortanul just admitted that it IS in addition to the other tax.
These taxes ARE compounded on all products named. Now they are three fold (if import taxes are included).

I Have donated my 1000 cc's to Mazzy Cat Because i know she will do what is best for the country. I enjoy giving. It is one of the reasons i play this game. 25% wam tax takes that away from me and i WILL not live under it. I am only one person so losing me probably wont make that much of a diffrence. But if you lose 10 or 20 players like me you have a problem. Think about what will happen if you pass the 25% wam tax. We will be wiped and 25% wam tax. That is CRAZY! Like Mazzy has said there has to be a better way.
At the author, this is a dangerous way to do business, as it is enough for one multy to donate money to you, or someone who got his money from mutlies, to give the admins the excuse to ban you.
If people want to donate they can always do it to the country accounts, from the military page next to the food donation option. This also means that the money need to go through congress first before being allocated.
So I have to be cautious who I accept money from. That's fine. I doubt a complete stranger would donate to me anyways.
And yes - that is another way to go about things.. If people feel more comfortable with that. Then that's awesome too. This is the US though. There are plenty who do not want to see it in the govt's hands. Some won't want to see it in mine either. It's a tough terrain some days.
it's not different elsewhere about governments, as for the money the thing is the one donating might not even know he got it from someone unrepeatable..... and then you're at the mercy of the admins who decide wether to ban you or not, cause they ban everyone along the route of dirty money if they wish to.
I'm not trying to rain on your parade, informing you, I've already done that and suffered from it when I was young and green in the game and believed you're innocent until proven guilty.

I honestly appreciate your concern... but I really mean the things I say. I'm willing to risk it. It IS a game afterall. It's not like they can do anything to me besides ban me. Which would suck and all.. but wouldn't be the end of the world.

The eUS's present situation is the result of STRATEGIC weakness. Collection of tax money to redistribute it as tank money is a TACTICAL approach and simply can't solve the problem in the long run. In other words, it is not sustainable.
Waysted is right on. I would add that going to 25% tax would make this eCountry no longer recognizable as eMurica and so would contribute to the exodus of self-sufficient independents.
