Day 8 - Brazil in Danger, Resistance in USA

Day 8 -

North America
Yesterday saw the loss of Nevada, as Spain captured one of the few remaining Western states. The only state left standing is Hawaii, and that region may be left that way, as Indonesia fears a Chinese invasion. China is one of the few Terra/EDEN countries that is not being overrun, and they could potentially inflict heavy casualties on the Indonesians, depending on how much support ONE gives the island nation.
Poland conquered Maine, and New Brunswick was lost via Resistance War. The leaves Connecticut, and Indiana as the only regions left with a Polish border. And it may soon be only Connecticut, as Indiana has been invaded, and currently sees the Poles up 2-0.
In the South, Louisiana has come under Hungarian invasion, and the region will not remain free much longer. Hungary is currently pitching a shutout, and it is doubtful the United States will rally.
And in Middle America, the United States is seeing it’s greatest success against Spain. The Spanish have lost numerous resistance wars to America, as they saw Iowa, and South Dakota both liberated yesterday. However, they countered with an attack on Iowa, and this means that the Hawkeye state will probably be under Spanish control within an hour.
However. There is promising news. As I hypothesized in an early article, the Americans are seeing much more success using the Resistance War. This allows them to start battles when it is best for them, and to let the large population of 2-clickers easily fight for the resistance.
Currently, North Dakota, California, and Texas are all involved in a Resistance war. The Americans are holding a surprising 4-3 lead over Indonesia in California. And they are also leading in Texas. The region should return to the United States within the hour. They are however, losing in North Dakota. Although this could change, as the Americans are entering their prime-time and could shift resources away from Texas towards the northern state.

Current battles being fought in the United States

Lastly, Alaska was lost to Canada. As usual, this is a planned region swap. I see two benefits to this. One, it may allow the United States to quickly resistance war a region back, if they are in danger of being wiped. And secondly, it protects Russia from getting invaded on their eastern border.

South America
As was reported yesterday, Spain invaded Brazil. North of Brazil fell to the Spanish, shortly after I published, and now Northeast of Brazil has fallen to Spain. This leaves only Southeast of Brazil, and the region is currently under Peruvian attack. Brazil has won a battle, but is still losing. Brazil of course, possess three regions in South Africa, due to a treaty. So, they are not in danger of being wiped, however, they are in danger of being ejected from South America.
Argentina has seen staggering losses in their war with Peru, as the tiny nation uses both conventional warfare, and resistance wars to wipe out the Argentinians.

State of Affairs in South America

Europe
As was anticipated, Mexico attacked Azores, Portugal. The Portuguese repelled the attack, and just a few hours ago, opened up a battle in the Southeast of Mexico. In the next few minutes, they should win the first mini battle, and take a 1-0 lead on the Mexicans.
The rest of this region is quiet, for the most part, with the exception being Russia and Lithuania, as those two countries continue to tangle.

Overall Analysis
For all the people who complained about the constant battles in Eastern Europe (I’m one), and how nothing was ever really gained, this is what happens when that region is quiet. In the current state of the game, there will always be war. And if Hungary and Serbia aren’t battle Romania and Croatia, then those countries will turn their attention elsewhere. That is what we are seeing now.
Regardless, the Americans are starting to see some success with the resistance war. Whether they can keep up this frantic pace, and start to actually make some headway against ONE remains to be seen.
Otherwise, the destruction of Brazil is concerning in both it’s speed, and implications. But if the Brazilians travel to Spain, to fight in Resistance wars, then they would be able to help the American War effort as well.
