I would build a road between A an D and another between C and B.

it would be a total 2 times SQRT(2) road. more or less 2.82 miles total build.

I used pithagoras theorem to calculate the length of each road... 1^2 + 1^2 = lenght road ^ 2
So length road = SQRT(2)
... send me the money 😛
