Battle Hero dilemma
Arpad von Schmidt
Dear fellow eJapanese citizens!
The spring break have brought up an old problem that should be discussed.
Japan is home to many strong and great players who know everything about the game, yet they act like whiny little girls when someone takes away their BH title when they already have thousands.
I posted about it in the country feed the other day, the democratic response was to delet is and I was banned.
I think the root of the problem is that while there used to be real wars, now all the practice battles and the "I hit first, I get the BH" rule is ridiculous. For example, if I can hit a Romanian, I don't give a flying f@ck who has the BH, I'm going to hit everything I have.
Whoever agrees with this should comment, whoever doesn't should explain why it's the way it is.

god luck
Let's look at it this way: "I hit first, I get the BH" is a gentlemen's agreement between two citizen of the same country. I let you get a bh with minimum effort so do you with me, and when there's an ugly foreigner cometh we both step up and protect our little gold farm...
It is an economic decision based on the fragile veil of trust. Many here can be oversensitive since they have never experienced this "You scratch my back I scratch yours" in real life.
It's this or a dog eats dog world. You can choose which one you prefer to live in.
On the other hand, I completely agree with you that this arrangement only works well for players who log in every other hour. Players can't really participate who just log in twice a day and find no battles to hit in since many of our more active players sit on a bh with ridiculously low damage. I have no solution for you but you should know that those active players can very well do a LOT more damage if their medal / 5 gold is threatened.
I suggest that you go and play this game the way you want. On this note, we all can agree albeit our differences

This farce in my opinion is not that much different than bringing "real emotions" in the game and going all out because the other player happen to have an e-natinality you feel strongly about.
Well, in a way we all are human.
I cannot talk for BHs as I do not touch that world. On sky hero medals though:
3 or 4 players "monopolize" sky hero medals, coming in on the first minutes of pretty much 90% of the fights, yet some of them complain. See feed post by that guy with the politician looking fella on his avatar, whatever his name is.
This is a stupid game and the rules it gives or the rules we make are stupid. This said, I don't usually respect foreigners, while I do respect said monopoly guys even if it means not getting a single medal myself. And my way is only one of many as Darshu wisely comments.
I have personally been asked to respect Serbians coming i to take Japanese sky hero medals. Frankly, if I am in need, I will go for those. You guys work hard to give us Japanese citizens training wars.
The internet used to be a free land. eR, in its retardation, still is.
As for myself, I am not interested in BH at all, at present I have only 201. With more than 14 years in Erepublik, that's roughly 1 medal per month.. 🙂 What bothers me is the whining about it...
We all think our way is the correct way I guess. Neverending story. For me the reality is that I do not feel like participating much. Others might react differently.
🤣 u need to be Serbian to understand this picture, but I like it how you described me xD
Test comment
First, i will endorse 10101010's comment.
Secondly, Darshu's comment as well, it was thorough, so much so that i almost gave up commenting at all.
Thirdly, addressing the 'old problem'...I don't see that one exist, pretty much at all.
Also, you said it, 'Spring break' brought, something, that which you think that is the 'problem'. Which means that whatever is happening, will simply go away with 'Spring break' as well. So yeah...
Fourth, not sure which ones are the 'whiny players'...i know some who are not in Japan and love spending 1 fuel and take 'both sides' so that they maximize their spending...valid, but zero consideration for players of that other side, especially if we are talking about our TW 'partners', which made me react in order to prevent it and i did to certain extent.
Fifth, you said, 'they have thousands'...ok, you can have too as well. And one more thing, if they were having 'weak' approach to their medals, that would take vast amounts of time and 'resources' to get those 'thousands' of medals.
Either one plays the game, or just 'chills' on the 'outskirts' out of boredom, or simple habit he developed over time.
And those who play, like to be 'rewarded' for their 'effort', but time more than anything, in more ways then one.
Sixth, if one wants 'COME AT ME, BRO' approach, he must be ready for it, fully. As i said some time ago, on the chat to a player, if one wants it, he can try, no problem, he will do almost no 'harm' at all. He will only push me further, quicker and faster towards next rank, next level, next whatever...all is good.
I don't see it negatively, whatsoever.
Seventh, just as i type this, you were in a battle, with almost 250k...why? Will that give you 2500 gold or 25 medals? No, just 10 and just 1. That is the difference. Even during this 'Spring break', around 5 medals, 50 gold with that. That is how 'they' have 'thousands' of medals, by not wasting vast quantities of them.
There was Epic 2 days ago, 30 million dmg, that is almost 1000 medals, and 10,000 gold on 'average' when it's not event like this. But i could afford it, and it's very special occasion we are talking about here, ideal for ranking, rewards and other goodies.
Few moments ago, 2, 3 battles, empty for 10 min. Why? All of them are for us, yet others come and take them, because endless amounts of dmg are spilled over 'coming at you, bro' attitude and 'watch your back', and 'i want medal when i want it, even at the end and can't wait for next round'. Ok...whatever.
Do your thing, but 'they' will 'harvest thousands' of medal, as usual, well after this week ends.

My 'thing' is, usually, and you can check that via site called E***Box, and there you can find medals for last 30 days, where you can notice certain 'pattern' i have, and that is mostly 1 battle, multiple rounds. That battle is mostly our 10% natural enemy bonus TW partner.
Or, i don't mind that being called that way, i tend to 'monopolize' that particular battle if i am able to, that is the choice i make, and don't succeed every time in that, because others 'hit faster' or i miss a round for energy recovery or start of that round.
This way, other 6, 7 battles are 'open for business' for all our players. I don't see that as limiting myself in that way at all. Very rarely am i going 'all over the place'. Besides, one must monitor all those battles he fights in. This suits me much more then otherwise. When i do that, it usually means i don't have much time, but that rarely happens because i'm active.
There is also thing, when some accounts ( non-players ) show up, for reason to 'rank up' asap and traded later, during this and other similar events. That's when you can see those 'low rank-level' players making X amounts of dmg, not even for a medal per se. It is not hard to know which ones are those, especially if you pay attention, and that requires even more time in the game.
Hopefully this clears up some things for you, and i'm yet to hear why do you chose 'up to the last second' medals, especially if you might not even be able to achieve that, even with ongoing events? I think that you have more chances during regular weeks...with that said...
XoXo
PS. Why minding harmless 'drama'...just a rare interaction in the 'community'. All good...
I am more than glad that we talk about this. We can look at the issue from various angels, considering different aproaches. That's quality journalism at its best!
So long as the walls are right. Whoever hit first should get dibs but that is not a guarantee when another player fills the gap.
You gotta love explosive Watan Tanka!
One small suggestion to you if you accept.
When I started shooting on the ground I had about 200k power, and I see you now have 260k. I shot in losing battles because I knew I was so weak that I couldn't get a single round in winning battles .Slowly collected gold and money and only took energy bars at a discount and shot everything in the first battle that came to me for Japan because I compensated it all with the money I would take
.In three years I came from Titan*** to Legend XX.All without single pay pack.
Nice strategy, thank you! I like the " all without single pay back" part, because I am cheap! 🙂
I try to be mindful of the first hitter rights for other eJapanese and some TW partner citizens if they are hitting for our side. If i do not see an empty eJapan battle and my energy is maxed out then foreigners who are leading eJapan battles would have to watch out.
I despise the wall fixer excuse to take over another eJapanese unless both eCountries are close to triple digit points as it tends to happen every now and then with some of the stronger TW partners like Bulgaria and Romania. When that happens there is usually a collective effort to fix the battle regardless of BH/SH medal rules anyways. But if you want to annoy me, take over me when battle is 122 - 30 in our favor but you fixed the wall because we were losing the round 🙂
During the events things get crazy for sure. We should be a bit more understanding if a rule/agreement gets broken.
Anyways these are my two cents. I hunt medals often but most of my medals come from after hours empty battles all over the eWorld due to my time zone (advantage). We used to have very few battles going after hours but that has changed with last couple CPs so I tend to get greedy if i see too many empty eJapan battles during that time frame and chase multiple medals at the same time.
I was here .
