Ad-Hoc Dail: A Possible Solution..

Day 1,322, 19:24 Published in Ireland Ireland by Citizen woods

SO here’s what im proposing. As we won’t have a Dail this term I think it would a good idea to have some sorta of Citizen Representation Community, or an Ad-Hoc Dail if you will.

OK so I know the Dail isn’t the most loved or respected form of government in this country. But it’s still a part of this country and I think needs to be represented in some form or manner. It’s has the capacity to represent the views of the people to the president and indeed censure the president if necessary.
It provides an important check to the balance of power and I think will help to insure democracy and fair government.

The plan is that every party in Ireland elects TD’s on the basis of how many members they have. For ever ten members that party will designate one TD, they will be no rounding up or rounding down off members just to keep things simple.

The six Military units will also be aloud to designate one TD each. As I think it is important that these stalwarts of Irish defence are included in a national debate.
This is also a way of accounting for Irish citizens not in a political party.

I think that this Ad-Hoc Dail has the ability to function very well because of it’s small numbers and it’s hopefully hardworking and dedicated members. Of course there will be no gold and no medals..

I will present this proposal to the newly elected president and he can come decide to enact this or not, simple as..

For what powers that this Ad-Hoc Dail will have, I’m as of yet unsure. I await public opinion on this matter and also what the president deems prudent

that gives us about 19 TD's which i think will be a idle number..

Thank you
