A Treasured New Year With You

So with a new year comes a very special poem from Maria. She wrote this poem on New Years eve and read it to me at the dinner table on New Years day 2009. Once again succeeding in mortifying me! 😃
This is the tenth poem from Maria and the first of the new year. Seems like only yesterday she read it to me, full of life and looking forward to the year ahead. 10 months later, she was gone.
But, this is not a time for sadness, its a time to celebrate Maria and her poetry. 🙂

I'm so grateful for a new year
To spend with you,
My most special one,
My cherished and treasured love,
Who has gifted me with happiness and joy,
Adventure and excitement,
Comfort and peace.
As I look ahead, I see each day with you
Filled with warmth and affection,
A deeper, more fulfilling love,
Than I could have imagined
In my fondest, most perfect dreams.
A new year with you
Is the most valuable, most precious treasure
I could ever have.
