eInternational University
We all know the eRepublik Wiki is a "go-to" for information about nations/political parties/citizens and helpful game guides, but what about a place people can openly share and discuss histories and ideas and engage in civil debate? We'll call it eInternational University!
What are the core values and tenants of the University?
Provide a discussion area for a vast array of subject areas: Anything from eRepublik religions to economic sciences, subjective personal interpretations of history to objective national histories, and much more!
Facilitate civil debate (emphasis on the word "civil") for two or more opposing parties may share and argue their cases in a manner that doesn't resort to yelling matches and mudslinging.
Enrich the eIrish community by generating an intellectual class that could benefit us not only in-game but perhaps gain insightful perspectives/ideas/knowledge in real life as well.
How this will be set up is it'd be based on an off-site forum with several categories that separate into sub-forums. These sub-forums would then branch off into in-game and real life University focus areas. From there you can choose from multiple subject areas that will include broad topics made by the University - to which members of the University can create threads as they wish.
The Directors (admin) will have limited powers which will mostly only be used to maintain civility and a non-hostile atmosphere in the University. They will also act as "moderators" of debates and conduct monthly interviews with newly elected political leaders or movements.
My hope with this project is to not only produce more community interaction, but to engage the worldwide eRepublik community and attract players with diverse interests and ideas to eIreland. If it grew bigger than eIreland then the forum could set up multinational Universities around the New World!

I didn't know trying to build an active engaging community was a waste of money?
There are numerous way to get an active engaging community with 1000cc other than votes, which you should be able to get for free if people find your project interesting. imho

I like the idea, but I think the civil discourse will last about as long as it takes for the first forum to be opened :/
All serious members of the University will be able to proceed as the Moderators will remove any completely immature/flaming/severely uncivil posts and afterwards will post the reason for removal so no one Mod can just delete posts they don't agree with.
So after a day at school/work/college you want people to sit through a class on eIrish history?
I love knowledge 🙂 I independently study/research about half the time when I am not working or attending college classes. The other half I like to relax and socialize.
I love knowledge also. I read a lot. I have read 24 books so far this year. I try to learn something everyday. So debate on issues and seeing things in a different light is good by me.

i wouldn't introduce debate. from another game i made the following observations.
People that frequent these forums usually debated in school or college. usually subjects they debate they dont have professional knowledge about. if you follow the strict rules regarding debates like "source"logic" etc etc its like Grainne said a pain in the ass. and usually dominated by pretentious c*.
