[WCUT] Anotha one

Day 3,429, 10:43 Published in USA USA by Malpazar

WOW!Here we go again, keeping with tradition in how I play the game I am slated to come up with another What is Congress Up To article. Yeah folks I am back again, do not take much stock into it because this happens a lot.

Quick Background

For those no familiar with WCUT, let me enlighten you. Back when I was more active in the game I always was interested in congress starting off, naturally most of the congressional process occurs on the forums but most people (specifically newer players) are not familiar with the meta. That is where I come in, and publish public congressional proceedings. (Private proceedings stay private due to my lack of congress membership, and security)

Our elected representatives debating the addition of two ponies to the budget
With that lets get into some recent news.

Wait, you want how much?

As with most terms in congress a budget has to be passed, and April is no exception. There was only a little controversy involving budget terminology specifically involving a line about the Dept of the Interior/Department of Citizen Affairs.
The budget passed 19 to 1, with 3 abstaining.

A Constitutional Amendment Struck Down

Congressman Arrden proposed an interesting change to the way congressional advisors are handled in congress. The additional amendment sets stricter guidelines on how advisors are appointed, heard, and removed. Criticism while starting off as 😂 eventually did develop as to why the amendment was viewed as many as weak, with a specific note being taking power away from the Speaker and giving it to the executive. This writer does not have an opinion on the subject as both sides seemed to make a good argument, but I think its detrimental for congress to give up the power they have, especially to an appointed executive.
Vote Failed, 13 yes to 17 no, no abstain

That is pretty much it for this round of WCUT, been a slow cycle in the public, and I just got back to the game so I am cutting myself some slack.

I would also like to say congratulations to Dinnyin on being the 112th Speaker of the House, and congratulations to all those elected into congress this cycle.
