[UPDATED] Activity In Congress ~ Statistics

Day 2,334, 12:30 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Addaway
Hey all,

I had a spare hour today, and being bored I had a look at the activity of people within Congress. Every month, the eUK elects a 40 man Congress but gets no real feedback from Congress as to how those congressmen are performing. Displaying this kind of thing was something I intended to do whilst I was Speaker, but never got around to with all that was going on that month.

Now, I'm not one to publish the contents of logs from the Congress PMs, but we can have a look at the number of times Congressmen have been posting within the group PMs, and this can give us a rough idea of which of our Congressmen have been contributing to the discussions within Congress. I appreciate that some people prefer to use the forums for discussion, but there is a much higher number of posts within the PMs and it is just used more, so I've only focused on the group PMs.

The main problem with this data is that I'm naturally only in one of the group PMs, so I haven't a clue what has been going on in the other message, and there are some Congressmen which were swapped over to the other message after the CP election, so for some I only know half the month.

Anyway, here's the raw data for posts in the Group Congress PMs so far this month:

NB: I counted every single post, from massive long paragraphs to one word replies

The black areas are when a Congressmen was only in my PM group either before or after the CP election, not all the time. For these Congressmen, the average posts per day was worked out with the number of posts divided by six days, with the rest divided by the full twelve days. The table is colour-coded by party.

I appreciate that this is not a precise indicator of Congressmen's activity, as it does not take into account the quality of posts, only the quantity.

There were some Congressmen that did not/have not contributed at all so far in the PMs:

Here's some graphs to display the data better:

Raw number of posts from each party as a percentage of the total (1st PM)

and the second PM...

Average posts per party worked out by adding up the total number of posts from congressmen of each party, then dividing by the number of congressmen from that party in the PM.

Note: PCP only had one member in the first PM, so 10 is just the number of times SirRex posted.

If there are any other charts that you would like to see added to this (average posts by party for example) just let me know and I'll be happy to add them.

Cheers,

Adastros
Congressmen

PS: Over the past ten days I've only been logging in for maximum an hour a day, and yet I've managed to post the most times in my PM. I genuinely was not expecting this, but is it a sign that we need to get Congress more active?

PPS: So much for two-clicking...
