[MoD] Call to Arms MU Contest Rules & Open Tracking

Day 1,820, 17:12 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Emergy Maxfell

Just a short update for today. As you know, the Ministry of Defence has recently announced a military unit competition for public MoD battle orders. Now that we've had time to prepare a datasheet for tracking progress, I thought a little update was in order before we start handing out prizes and publishing results.

All participating MUs and their Commanders are invited to view our public datasheet in which all information pertaining to the Call to Arms competition will be recorded. Military units can assess their standing as the competition develops. (http://tinyurl.com/ctacontest)

The Ministry of Defence announced in the previous article that there would be weekly prizes. Having had some time to mull over the decision, MoD has decided to change that number a bit and award prizes for every five MoD articles completed (about 10 days). As far as contest winners are concurred, there will be 2 prizes awarded for each set of 5 MoD articles. One award designed for smaller MUs, and another designed for larger MUs. By offering two different ways of winning, we hope to encourage all military units to participate, not just the most active or the largest ones.

This award will go to the MU which has the highest rate of military unit participation in the system. Participation percentage is calculated as – (NumberOfRequests/MilitaryUnitSize).

Note: Since MU size is such an important factor in determining the unit’s participation rates, if a MU Commander wishes to update his ‘membership totals’ after removing dead or inactive players, just send me a message and I’ll fix it up for you. Every MU's membership size will be re-sampled automatically every 10 days unless otherwise instructed. Also, to keep the competition fair, participating MUs who dip below 20 members will be counted as if they had 20 members. ((Membership less than 20 will not contribute toward your participation percentage))

This award will go the MU which has the highest number of individual requests amongst the various military units. This number represents the total number of requests made by the various military units and is irrespective of military unit size.

Prizes for the contest have yet to be finalized. However, I can say that we’ve got at least 180g worth of tanks, currency, and shiny gold. That doesn’t include whatever funds the government might like to put into the pot. That amount will have to be determined by Talon, Carlini, and our MPs.

That's about it! Happy Fighting UK!
