[CP] - A Message to the People of eBelgium - Day 1585

Greetings fellow eBelgians,
Today our misguided neighbors to the north conquered our country for the second time. This closed the current war as we had no more territories.
We subsequently liberated Wallonia, and are currently fighting to free Brussels. Unfortunately, we remain without any treaty or agreement with the eNetherlands. No peace treaty, no armistice, no "understanding", no on-going communication.
Concurrently with the regaining of Wallonia, I initiated the Natural Enemy process for eNetherlands. Such an action was taken, not to continue the war, but in hopes of ending it.
By taking control of the timing of the next battle from the CP of eNetherlands, we now have two days in which to negotiate a formal end to the conflict. Two days for the peace process to work… two days in which the eDutch can decide if they wish to reconcile with the people of eBelgium.
If the congress of eNetherlands wishes to allow eBelgium to have elections, if the congress of eNetherlands wants to work towards restoring the friendship between our two countries, they should immediately vote "No" on the corresponding eNetherlands Natural Enemy proposal of eBelgium.
Once it is clear the Natural Enemy proposal launched in eNetherlands will not pass, the congress of eBelgium will vote down our Natural Enemy proposal and thereby avoid a war.
Otherwise, if an agreement is not reached, there is another 24 hours after one of the NE proposals passes to negotiate a settlement before an attack must be launched.
Even after fighting resumes, we can still have peace through a negotiated proposal, but only when the citizens of eNetherlands decide that they wish to end this pointless and destructive conflict. Yes, they have proven they can win on the battlefield. We are not without some victories, however, and we also have an ever-increasing war chest. We have also begun negotiating with several mercenary military units to provide vastly increased support for future conflicts.
The only winners in this conflict are the mercenaries and those using this conflict to distract the people of eNetherlands from the recent theft of their treasury.
That's why I again ask that we find a way to end this internecine madness. Let us have peace.

If you continue RW'ing, I'd say there's a good chance you guys will at least have a congress of 10 people. And I'm not saying that just to be nice. ;- ) Just plain logics: you have shown already that you folks are much stronger than we originally thought you were.

@Mattio: There is no way eNL can now deny eBE a congress, we'll have a minimum of 10 people in congress and a maximum of 30 with a lot of luck. I would urge Dutch congress members to vote no on the new NE!
It's a good article, but you must see : eNl have no intention to stop that.
I didn't understand because their alliance has a lot of battles, they lost a lot of dammages with this war.
Error of strategy for me but we will see in the futur.
Now, we must be stronger and accept that eNl is now an opportunist country who is proud with their alliance to destroy us. That's the game, the only little country where they can fight. It's easier for them.
I'm not happy about them because in the past, we fought for a lot for countries in several alliances (little countries, USA, eGermany, ....) but they forgot that. They are pushing us to have ONE mpp's to defend our regions and after .... Look they are in a side, they are not neutral. Propaganda to have help from their friends.
They are playing a bad game, and we have not a bad role in this story.
@Nohjis: and I congratulate you guys with that. :- ) This war is about fun (for us, war is rarely fun for both sides), it is not my personal intention to make the game unplayable (i.e. not having a congress)...
@GoopyPants: though your efforts are honourable, writing these articles is like talking French: the Belgians may understand it (which is your main goal of this article, as I notice) but the Dutch won't. "We" are not talking about ending the war an😛 'When will we stop?'. "We" are talking about: 'How far will we go with this?'
It is not our intention to ruin the game for you. ;- ) Whether this ruins the game for you is up to you guys: if you can't handle being at war, then maybe eRepublik just isn't your type of game. I do have to congratulate you, however (again! Twice in one comment! :- D), since you guys turned out to be stronger than I thought. You got my respect. :- )

@Mattio : eNl could have a different goal, with diplomacy but they make a choice : they want forget good relations and they want us like enemy.
Now, i don't see how to change that because i see again a proposal of NE. But sure i'm not Jésus, and if eNl will not change is position, my personal view is fight against to every country who fought to destroy us.

Nice statement! We are Belgians, and we will continue fighting if necessary. We survived PTO attempts, we survived actual PTO's, we've been wiped several times by several nations, but still we stand tall. We might fall again, but sure as hell, we will rise again.
Had the eBelgian CP not himself started a new NE proposal, I would surely have voted against the counter NE proposal by my CP. However, I have voted 'yes' now, because I think the eBelgian CP's strategy is flawed. I am against this continuation of armed conflict; starting NE proposal against the eNetherlands, even if meant diplomatically, will certainly not achieve a lasting peace.

Hindrik: had the Belgian CP not himself started a new NE proposal, you would have spoken differently now. As for Belgium, we cannot afford to be at your mercy anymore. We take matters in our own hands. If your government starts to show some credibility, please contact me. I will do all i can to facilitate people talking together in a normal way again.

@Hindrik: Your CP has stated he wished to wipe eBelgium and leave us without congress to punish us for fighting back. The only possible strategy was to initiate the NE first making sure we'll have a congress of 1 region at minimum, 2 at maximum. I for one no longer believe a single word without actions from any Dutch member of congress. The dutch have been proven to stab their allies in the back, why would it be different for those that are portrayed as enemies. If your government at the very least left communication channels available things might be different, but you're now wasting the last chance you had for trust.
@Hindrik: Starting an NE was for Belgium the only strategy that made it possible to get a congress without having to rely on the empty dutch words.
My mom told me to never trust a dutchie if it comes to money, I realise now that my mom is an optimist ...
The Belgians do not want peace. They only want survival. If the situation is reverse, they will do exactly the same thing. Since they cannot win in this conflict, they want peace and appeal to morals as justification and a rallying cry.

Do you know what it is like to be eGerman? We face wipes many times and we are use to it. I really could care less. It is part of war and part of eRep.

It would be impossible for our situations to be reversed because eBelgium is not an imperialistic aggressor. Rather, we are peaceful people.
