I could of just made that a written title, but I couldn’t think of a better way to start off than to make an image for it.

In this article, I wanted to briefly explore his roots from my eyes, before reviewing his actual terms.



From tiny acorns …

Joining the game in May ’12, Emdoublegee joined the game during Israel Steven’s 3rd term as PP, although he wasn’t visible to me until he was chosen as Rixx’s Deputy of Communications under my own 1st PP term in June. Vocal and inquisitive, he’s always been friendly with anyone who was in the leadership room. My own friendship with him has grown steadily as we’ve worked together in both AMP through hard times (Potato’s Presidency of the party) and better times (Cerb’s Presidencies), and in the Executive Cabinet of the government.

He may not be a chatterbox, but if you engage him in topics of interest, be it good or bad, you’ll find him very opinionated while respectful that others have a differing opinion … He’s not the type of guy to ram his own opinion down your throat and tell you that is the only opinion there should ever be on the matter.

I knew as time went on and he became more and more immersed in the party and the different departments, that he would run, and win the Party Presidency one day … I didn’t realise it would be so soon.



Assuming the Presidency, a little early

Towards the middle of Cerb’s 2nd term in October, talk began in the leadership room about who was possibly going to step forwards and enter the fray to run for Cerb’s chair once his term was over (Cerb had already decided he wasn’t going for a 3rd term, instead committing himself to PotUS). There were a couple of people who said they would, mainly because it seemed funny to them, but Emdoublegee stood out as the one guy that was serious and was most likely to.

I was excited about this, if not a little worried. I knew there’d be stiff competition from a couple of other people in a race, but for the most part, I was confident that there would be a strong showing of support for Emdoublegee, and even if he didn’t win, that strong showing would be enough to show him as a future contender for the seat.

His ascension to the seat was a lot sooner than expected. When the results of the PotUS election seemed clear on the 5th, It showed Cerb was going to be the new President of the nation. However, in the party, you cannot be the Country President AND the Party President as it presents a conflict of interest and time. This has only happened once in the parties history, and was funnily enough Israel’s 3rd term when he won the race, and what happened next mirrored my own past.

Like myself when Israel won, Emdoublegee was named by Cerb as the legitimate Interim Party President for the remainder of his term. On the 6th of November, Emdoublegee was for all intents and purposes, the Party President.



His real terms begin

For the most part, Emdoublegee steered the remainder of Cerb’s term the way Cerb had been steering it himself … and come 12th of November, when the deadline passed, he was given his own mandate by winning the AMP PP Primary by a margin of 6 votes over John Largo. I was ecstatic, I was finally going to get to see Emdoublegee, the guy I’d grown to Bro-Love, in the big chair in his own name and do his own thing.

And he certainly got off to a striking start, he put out clear goals for each department every 2-3 days when he made a new PDB. It was a pleasure to see, mainly because PDB’s had tended to get lax under Cerb and this was a breath of fresh air. He constantly kept the directors on their toes and made sure they knew when they weren’t working hard enough. Sure enough, his first term flew by, although I felt bad by feeling like I’d of blighting it by not winning my PotUS run. He’d kept his head level and his nose clean and done a good job.

His second run was more contested, facing off against Dr Luis Sentieiro in his attempt for a 2nd Term. The end vote was by a slim 1 vote margin as him and DLS came to an agreement that they both wanted to see Emdoublegee in the big chair one last time. However, this is where things get a little more difficult.

It’s been noted in the past that by a PP’s 2nd term, they’re feeling the burn … the time between their PDB’s get longer and longer, and there were occasion where I or another member had to prod him or his CoS to make one to keep people working. In his 2nd term, I got made “Media God” by him, which was a purely fictional title but was meant to represent the fact that if I told departments to work on articles, they were to consider it as though Emdoublegee was asking himself.

The sad part of his 2nd term was the controversies surrounding the CP Primary and PP Primary. During the CP Primary, there was widespread discontent between some members of the game over how the primary was going, which accusations being thrown around that it was rigged. This hurt Emdoublegee personally because he felt it was an attack on him as PP (That’s what PP’s are like … an attack on the Party is an attack on them). While the result still went the way it was predicted to go by many (As soon as the poll opened Fingerguns was leading by an extraordinary amount), this was the catalyst that led to the worst controversy of his term.

The PP Primary from the outset was bound to be a dirty and explosive one, pitting what could be termed as Ancient Old vs New Old, Haliman vs Dr Luis Sentieiro. Trying to learn from the problems that plagued the CP Primary, we instituted new regulations as such, with increased checking of IP’s against multiple lists and other ways of checking for multies (I won’t go into it, it went over my head … I voted and left it at that). Unfortunately, as is made aware, extreme problems arose due to how we handled suspected multi votes. I won’t rehash that, but it left what could be considered a stain on Emdoublegee’s 2nd Term despite him trying his best to keep the party honorable and clean, which is what I think people forgot in the uproar.



Finally, to end this, I feel Emdoublegee’s terms were good apart from the final blight, although I don’t hold that against him whatsoever. I do feel he needed more media presence, his number of articles posted lacking substantially behind what had been published by past PP’s. He was extremely consistent with his goals and made it his number one priority to try and include as many new people onto the leadership ladder to improve their chances.
