Followup: ===== As requested I added a rough translation =====

Wrote an 'impression article' for the first time in a while at the 'critique zone' [a website] so copy pasted it here too lol

MUVLUV ALTERNATIVE TOTAL ECLIPSE [title of the game]

[Picture1]

While overall it was interesting, I must say that a total no-no when it comes to the visual novel archtype was made (the cause was likely due to the original work being a plain novel and also that some consideration was made for the anime audience). I could not empathize with the protagonist. The introduction and first half of the game was also lacking any effort to lead the player to do so [empathise with the protagonist]. In fact, for those players that have for along time been emmersed in the muvluv world view, the character Yuuya Bridges was (at first) a subject of utter hatred. He made the most detestable aspect of the Yanks, "arrogant bourgeois" stand out very clearly. In the second half of the story he acted as if he were an entirely different character, however... that process, the changing of his attitude was hardly even illustrated. By falling short of reproducing the, "develop [mentally] together with the protagonist" style story that was MUVLUV ALTERNATIVE... the result was not so good and 'incomplete combustion'. [a term used for a lacking feeling]

[Picture2]

(Taking into account that the contents require a high level of understanding about the [MUVLUV] world view, I cannot think that this work was designed for first time readers [of the MUVLUV universe]... Even if it was, how many people could empathise with Yuuya is questionable... Well, if the player as well was some angsty Yank then I guess it's a different matter lol.

* Anyways, I wish vehemently for a Complete Edition for the PC *
(One word for the Gents/Ladies that have yet to come in contact with the Total Eclipse story... Wait. Total Eclipse's visual novel adaption is a raw diamond. If polished it definitely has the potential to become "Legendary" [Literally soul/spirit. Is a term used for the best of the best works that will stay with us players forever and eternity. Chiselled into our souls and very being.]
If you play the game at its height of perfection, it will be a moving work that you will be able to emmerse yourself in reverberation for a long time. [Referring to the continued feelings of being deeply moved emotionally even after completion of the game]

[Picture3]

The specific points for improvement are the two below;
1. Reinforcing the contents of the first half (bring the player as close as possible to Yuuya by depicting his internal thoughts and monologue in as much detail as possible, in a logical / persu... comprehensible manner)
If they can do this, then it will also not feel so unnatural when bringing the story to its current ending.
2. Additional routes / endings. (Of course, it is obvious what I am referring to without saying anything. Hinting at it, and then that result...) Or a 2-step construct. The current ending, an additional relative ending and a TRUE ENDING. Yep, this is the best construct. (only a personal opinion in the end)

[Picture4]

The above opinion is made by starting the game upon the below circumstances.
Completed MUVLUV/ALTERNATIVE/FABLE/CHRONICLES/All other MUVLUV related Visual Novels (exluding WARINAKI / AYUMAYU ALTERNATIVE) I was really looking forward to the Total Eclipse Visual Novel adaptation so, on purpose, did not touch the original novel, anime or manga versions at all.
As such, I was able to enjoy the story in a fresh state of not knowing what was going to happen. In other words, my criticism is not influenced by any of the other Total Eclipse media-mix, and before I began, I already had an extra-ordinary understanding of the [MUVLUV] world view (though saying that about myself is a bit...) [Expression understanding and showing humility to the lack of modesty]

[Picture5]

PS: While everyone's reviews are quite severe... putting that aside, for those that love MUVLUV, I can declare that Total Eclipse will become a work that cannot be ignored. Can't wait for the PC version!
For me personally, even just the activities of the USSR were sufficient to make me burn! [A term used for feeling passionate about something. A swelling up of hot MANLY feelings! BURNING! GAHHHH!]
First Lieutenant Sanda:ku's display of inhumane/immoral yet sound/logical arguments were = LOVE HEART "But we find that electrifying! admirable~!!" [Famous quote from JoJo's Bizzare Adventures]

[Picture6]

Putting aside whether it's needed or not, the proof for what it's worth:
