Hoist that rag!

16 Shells would like to take a moment to remind you to cast your vote in the Congressional election.

I would personaly like to take a moment to implore you to cast your vote specifically for the United States Workers Party candidates.

Since it is always possible that some who are reading this may be experiencing their first real Congressional Election, I’d like to spend a few sentences just explaining how the eRepublik Congressional Election process works.

Only the top five parties (based on party membership) are allowed to propose candidates for Congress. Members of non-top-five parties are able to switch to a top five party and run, but not after the 23rd of the month. (If you plan to do this, I recommend contacting the Party President a few weeks prior to the 25th to start a relationship there.)

All candidates must declare (on the “My Party” page in eRepublik) by the 23rd of the month. In theory, it shouldn’t matter when you declare, as long as you do so in time…

...because on the 24th day of each month, the President of each top five party re-arranges the list of candidates based on whatever devices that party has chosen to determine its list order. SFP, for instance, leaves its list up to a party ballot. At USWP we assign positions based on overall awesomeness, an average of awesomeness scores in 10 unique awesomeness categories. For this reason it has long been recommended that all awesome players should join USWP. This is also the reason you should cast your vote for the USWP candidates. It just creates a more awesome Congress that way.

Moving along, on the 25th, you will be asked to vote for a party. That may seem odd, considering the fact that you are actually electing a congress filled with individuals, but Plato. Whichever Party receives your vote benefits in the following way:

After the 25th is over, Plato examines the votes that were cast, potentially weeding out any illegally cast votes (some people cheat in this game, it is well known). On the 27th, the results are posted. Each top five party will (most likely) have gathered some share of the total votes cast. These votes are converted into a percentage of total votes.

Let’s create an example: USWP gains 50% of all votes cast while WTP gains 2%.

In this example, Congress would be 50% filled with USWP candidates, beginning from the top of the list. Meanwhile Congress would be 2% filled with WTP candidates, beginning (and probably ending) with the top of the list.

How many congressmen will get elected to eUSA Congress in total?

This is factored from the number of regions occupied by eUSA.

As you can see on eRep’s wiki page, eUSA’s (as of this writing) 53 regions will result in a Congress that is 53 members strong.

Lastly, someone eager to participate in Congress should understand that the inter-party community of eUSA (comprised of leaders and legends from almost every significant party in the country) conducts all of its affairs on the eUS Forum. This may bother some players which is understandable. However the Forum has proven time and again to be the most fair way to maintain good order, work together, and have maximum fun. If you are a new player and you see people poo-pooing the eUS Forums, make note of who they are and walk away. It is my advice that they are giving you bad advice.

One quick word about USWP Candidates for Congress:

AWESOME.

I probably should have given myself more than just one word…

Remember, the USWP is the party of WORKERS.

We love to work within the mechanics of the game in order to achieve the highest success. And we do.

I also want to thank the (eUSA - leading) 27 WORKERS who thrust their ‘taters deeply into the meat curtains. You’ve done us all proud.
