The Wheel is Life: Rules and Such

Day 3,262, 11:22 Published in USA USA by fingerguns

What is the wheel?

The wheel is a super-fun media/activity generating game that I invented. It’s a VICEROY exclusive, meaning this game exists as long as I am Viceroy of the Federalist Party.

Who can play?

Anybody. The wheel is Fed-centric, but not Fed-exclusive.

How do you play?

You ‘spin the wheel.’ I have a list of 100 things. Some of them are prizes, some are games, some are challenges, and some of them are just writing prompts. You spin by going to random.org and generating a number between 1 and 100.

To play, you must come into the Fed discord and just tell me you want to spin.

You get 1 spin a day.
You can buy a re-spin for $500, but you are stuck with whatever you land on.

You can purchase a second spin for $1000.
That second spin also has a re-spin option for an additional $500.

Money collected from re-spins and second spins goes into FREE PARKING, one of the spaces on the wheel.

Not everyone who wants to spin in a day can spin. I don't have a set limit of spinners, but I am a one-woman operation and I have other stuff to do sometimes. So if you want your chance, best get on it.

What if you don’t do what the wheel commands?

You are immediately eliminated from the game and shamed publicly.

Is there any way back in?

I have introduced a space that could offer someone redemption. If a spinner hits it, they have the option to bring back an eliminated player of their choice. It does not benefit the spinner to bring people back into the game, so eliminated players are encouraged to strike a deal or make an offer to the spinner who lands on this space.

Can we do tradesies?

Back-to-back spinners can swap the spaces they land on, if they choose. The only stipulation is that the two people did their spins within, like, a few minutes of each other. If you were the last spinner in the morning and nobody else spins until the evening, that’s not back-to-back.

What’s the time-limit on accomplishing these tasks?

Forum challenges are all 24 hours. Most article challenges are also 24 hours, however there are a few writing prompts that allow for 48 hours. These are determined by my perceived level of difficulty.

These are not punishments, this is meant to be fun. There is no expectation of excellence, only of participation.

Truly ambitious writers and trolls may be inspired by what they land on. In these cases, a time limit can be negotiated to allow for masterful execution.

How do you “win”?

Having a good time should be reward enough, but if you have ever spun the wheel and successfully did the thing you landed on, you will be eligible to win a HUGE PRIZE at the end of my Viceroy term. There will only be one ultimate winner.

Tell me more about how all of this works

It’s tedious and boring. It’s also a lot of work. I shuffle the wheel everyday to mix up the order. When some spaces are chosen, they are removed and replaced with a new thing. That keeps the wheel fresh and exciting, so every day when you take your spin, you really have no idea what you’ll get. The only space that will remain throughout the term is FREE PARKING.

As the term progresses, The Wheel will get significantly harder. The closer we get to finding an ULTIMATE WINNER, the tougher things will be. The rules will change. The requirements will change. The spaces will change. Do not forget- You Spin, I Win.

That's all I can think of for right now, but this game is refining as we play and you little weasels try to get one over on me. The wheel is not about profit. I am spending quite a bit of my own money on this. The wheel is about having fun with what is left of this community.

With that in mind, take a spin!! We've given away THOUSANDS so far and generated about a dozen new articles just in the last 5 days. Or just come by and watch. See what people passed up on and ridicule the failures. It's a great time.
