SFP and WTF is going on?

After my loss for eUS dictator I was pretty bummed out. Melissa Rose, her minions and almost two hundred multi votes has cost me the dictatorship. She had all of these, you know, ideas. She was going to do all this good stuff and try to heal the divide in our country and kick a$$ and so on and so forth. I, on the other hand promised to do nothing. At all. Zip. Oh, and I promised a canoe to every eUS citizen. In hindsight, OK, yeah, I can sort of see why she beat me by a couple (hundred) votes. Good thing too, canoes are expensive and I would have had to sell my soul to Oblige or someone to pay for them all.



I spent a lot of time just kind of wandering aimlessly after my defeat. I tried to make sense of my elife and finally figured out what was important to me. The friends I have made, the enemies I have made and the principals upon which I have based my existence here in eRep. My persona here may or may not have anything to do with my RL existence. This is a role playing game no matter what anyone says. We can be whoever we wish here and I chose the side of the downtrodden. The side of the rebels that refuse to bow to the whims of those so frightened of losing power that they dumb our country down to nothing more than a bunch of folks sitting on top of a bunch of resources. Those that take their positions of power so for granted that they cast aside other's ideas as unimportant.




Recently The Socialist Freedom Party has been taken over by a hostile Party President. Cerb got the controls and established himself as the dictator of the SFP. Under the guise of "helping" us become more mainstream and palatable to those that are currently in charge he has changed the party name and cast aside our party constitution. He has ignored the wishes of the party members. He has violated the democratic ideals of our party and taken it upon himself to make decisions for us. This is obviously a hostile takeover and that cannot be denied.

Cerb and his minions have taken to a ridiculous propaganda campaign trying to smear our Revolutionary Committee as being elitist and unresponsive to the will of the party. This is illogical as ANY party member that requests it may be on the RC. The RC is handled on a MM and there is not even a requirement to participate on our official offsite forums. If the definition of elitist is allowing every party member to speak their mind and feel free to state their opinion then yep, that is us. Call me elitist if that's what's it is.

We have seen a number of high profile citizens flow through our party recently. Some have stayed, some have not but ask them if we are anything but democratic and inclusive. Ask Gnilraps if he felt unwelcome. He might have left as perhaps his ideals or goals for this silly game didn't match with ours, but ask him if he ever felt as though he was not free to speak his mind. Ask him if there was ever discussion about the party selling its influence or shying away from our constitution in order to be a better "fit" with the rest of the cabal that runs the eUS. That actually might be one of the reasons he left, we just were not willing to bend enough to make the other parties happy.



Ask Aramec or Naz if they believe we are up to anything other than trying to give everyone a voice. They were both here for a time and, although they left us, I believe they will say that they were welcomed and their voices were heard along with everyone else here. SFP certainly isn't for everyone, it might not even be for most, but we are inclusive, welcoming and tolerant of everyone's ideas.

Simply look at how many SFP members endorse or have positive comments on Cerb's articles. Virtually none. He has no support from within the party. He had some during the election, sure, but as soon as he got that first sniff of power he took it for himself and made a mess of one of the eUS's oldest parties.



Many don't like us, many despise us. I am OK with that. Truly, I get it. We are an alternate voice and we are not for everyone. We talk a lot of, sh1+ and ruffle a lot of feathers. Sometimes that hurts us in the poles and probably makes it almost impossible to get elected to to top echelons of government. We have to live with that, maybe we change some stuff around, maybe not. That isn't the issue here though. The issue today is that Cerb and his people exposed a loophole in our system and screwed us. We were so willing to include a newcomer that we looked past the fact that there are unscrupulous individuals out there that care more about their own power than they do about our country or our party. I ask everyone who has a conscience to realize what has happened and do what they can to return the SFP to its loyal members.
