New World Feng Shui: when location matters.

Day 4,391, 20:39 Published in Russia Russia by Dmitry Odinets

Hello, my fellow readers. Black Friday usually means discounts for creating and upgrading companies and eRussia is a right place for. This article is a brief introduction into eRussian economical geography.

So, eRussia is a kind of safe harbor for any kind of industrial activity of New World. Production bonuses are 100/100/100/0(yes, aircraft weapon is a good joke, but looks like we don't have a sense of humor). Tax rates are 1% except three import ones (99% for weapon and FRM and 10% for houses). All active wars are TWs and things have been done this way for quite a long time.

That's Nornickel from RL-Russia, but that's also can give you quite fair impression about eRussia too. It's dark, hopeless, static. There is a time for fight and there is a time for fun, but time is frozen here. No rush, no passion, no sentiments, just lifeless mechanisms and profit calculation.

Of course, there are bad sides too, I'll tell about them.

The worst thing about starting production in eRussia for a while is that you're definitely not first person who did it. It doesn't have a great impact on things like "internal market competition" etc cause markets in New World are pretty well integrated. The direct aftermath of heavy industrialization is pollution. That's not terrible but it makes optimal decisions about company location counter-intuitive. As many other e-countries, we have one "rich" region for every of our 100% bonus industries: Volga Vyatka for food, Western Siberia for weapon and Eastern Siberia for houses. They have local bonuses for production additionally to national ones, but they are heavy polluted also. Let's look closely to every of industries.

Raw materials (all of three) Producers usually prefer integrated supply chain, so RM companies are concentrated in respective rich regions and have maximum 25% pollution; summary local bonuses are -7%, -7% and -11% for food in VV, weapon in WS and houses in ES. So the right strategy is find proper poor region with minimal pollution close to 0 (they exist).

Weapon There is only q7 weapon is consumed and produced, so the situation is similar to RM: every place is good except Western Siberia.

Food The situation with food is different: quality is almost irrelevant so the most common food is q1 because low-Q factories are cheaper and CAPEX are lower. Volga Vyatka is pretty heavy polluted for q1-q3 food segment, but things are much better in q4 and higher. Making FRM in poor region and starting high-Q food in VV can be a good idea.

Houses Situation is similar to food, but the pollution is worse for high-Q manufacture. Maybe it's worth to check Urals as house industry minor bonus region and, as in previous cases, poor regions.

I hope this summary was useful for you; it's not exactly a tutorial, cause it says not about formulas and numbers but mostly about how people use them (in fact, people usually don't). Also I hope it wasn't boring and you won't judge harshly. Because it's judgement that defeats us.
