Hard Times

Day 3,807, 16:50 Published in USA USA by Yui MHCP001

Ever since I’ve had the privilege to be present in American Congress and administrations, there have been select people always demanding to take risks and go after bigger countries, where we did not have a large chance of success.

They got what they wanted, and now we’re here.

Occupied.

Recently, chickenguys, LIBERATOR OF AMERICA, published The Land of Occupation. In it, he rightfully called on me for a comment on how this went so poorly. I intend for this article to be my comments, as I have been radio silent on this until now.

Answer: There’s no central leadership, neither in America nor Pacifica.

It’s no secret that I’ve been a largely passive Secretary General of Pacifica, much more than any of my predecessors. For more reasons than one, I tend to stay out of directing countries and telling them what to do. I only step in when things start to get out of control between countries, which happened multiple times when tensions with Hungary arose, ultimately leading to their departure from Pacifica.

In these last few months especially, I’ve been more noticeably absent, as I’ve been trying to focus more on my education, jobs, and overall wellbeing.
This has ultimately led to more coordination between individual countries than I’ve personally seen while being privy to Pacifica circulars. I will not lie here; This was developed in spite of me. They had little choice but to do this, due to my passive and absentee leadership.

Due to unfortunate real life circumstances, America also currently has no central leadership. I do not blame WhydoIbotherToo, as well all know real life trumps eRep. Unfortunately, it seems that no 1 person is at the head of the war effort. While Blande and Carlos are doing their best, they can only do so much with an absence of a central figure to guide everyone.

So here we are, USA fully occupied for the first time in quite a while. We’ve already seen at least one prominent member quit during these hard times, and there’s no telling who else is to come.

I’ve seen many articles and comments attributing this massive invasion to the “Wild Owl Doctrine”, and while I believe that there is blame to be had there (he’s said it himself), I don’t believe it’s fair to say that it all rests on his shoulders.

I am definitely at fault for this invasion, perhaps just as much as Wild Owl is, but it seems that due to my absence in the public eye, I’ve received little to no blame, at least publicly.

However, I intend to ride out this wave with the rest of those willing to stay and struggle through hard times.

When this scenario played out with Serbia in 2013, USA came out of it battered, bruised, and with its community shattered. Yet despite all that, we managed to still be a pain in the ass to our enemies throughout the years.

I’m sure we’ll be able to repeat history.
