I hoped that my fears for our future were overblown, they were not. Right now, our democracy is in crisis, I don't use the word 'crisis' lightly. Cherry is a tyrant, he considers himself to be above the law. I'm concerned over the legitimacy of the election.
He has many false or misleading statements, a breathtaking level of corruption. He doesn't even pretend to be a country president for all citizens. He's a divisive individual who polarizes the country.
You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about. That's why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win majority in congress, that's when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing that TUP seem to recognize and respect is strength.
The question about impeachment — you know, that will be left to others to decide.

Actually it's Hillary's rhetoric: the entire article is a collection of Hilary Clinton quotes referring to Trump and his victory in the election against her. And in case this needs pointing out, too, your comment to what you thought was "Michael's statement" regarding the election outcome literally mirror comments that Trump supporters made towards Hilary's when she made the very same statements. You act just like the people you hate. 🙂

The sad truth is that you probably know very little about the political figures and their politics, only being able to spout out things that the people around you affirm is right with jazz hands and pitch forks. If you're only able to recognise 'your' team by the bib, you're going to get into serious trouble when you find yourself trying to form an opinion.
This was fun to write, and I had a reasonable idea of the outcome. When it was said, many other lefty types ignored the, correctly observed by certacito, vitriol as they have such a strong overriding rule that she couldn't do wrong. It created a cognitive dissonance between the bib and words spoken, leaving people ignoring what she'd actually said, and applying the statements they knew to be negative to their 'bad man'.
This has been explored previously with Hitlers speeches and with ideas in communism, making the target believe they were listening to the opposite side, they take up arms inadvertently against their own group - because bib.
Quoting people out of context is an old rhetorical trick by which you can prove almost anything. "Who said this the serial killer or the college student" thereby proving that college students are serial killers... this kind of 'logic' is only convincing to the easily convinced...
Not sure what "rhetorical tricks" you've been seeing, but the ones I saw (and which Michael is referring to, I suspect) were of statements that very clearly support unreasonable actions, often including actual violence, against those you politically disagree with. If you need "missing context" (which is usually only the political affiliation of the person who said the original statement) to understand that those kinds of statements are bad, then I have bad news for you: you are brainwashed.
As far as Hillary's statements regarding Trump go, they apply to her just as well as they do to Trump. She was a horrible candidate, who through her own lies and corruption convinced enough voters that Trump was the lesser evil, making him win the elections. Like you said yourself, it's simply vitriol and inability to admit defeat, which she deserved. 🙂
PS. I'm still waiting for you to actually explain how I'm a Trump-supporting ultra-fascist. It's starting to seem that you realize you're in the wrong and are too cowardly to admit it! 😮

The context of whether the accusations you're leveling have any truth is actually pretty important.

Hilary's lies? What were they? What corruption? Trump lies almost daily even about t hings that are easily verifiable like "Reagen never won Wisconsin".. All politicians lie to some extent but most are embarrassed when round out..Trump doubles down!

Seriously though, no way has Keith not heard of those accusations before. He's a political zealot and the accusations were made against the person who's outspokenly against Trump, though. In all likelihood Keith knew at least some of these will be brought up when he asked about Hillary's lies and corruption and has already prepared "explanations" why these accusations aren't that bad or are made up by Trump supporters (assuming he replies at all...). Because in the end, all that matters to him is orange man bad!
Most go back to before Trump was even running for office, so I can't see how he can use that excuse. He's gonna have to come up with something better. It's very much the same as 'oh noes Trump is taking babies away from mothers', when in reality, it was a very much a practice used since Bubba Bills days in office, Bush jr and Obama also separated children from parents at the border when being detained. I doubt Keith understands, or if we are being fair to the lad, wants to believe how much he has been played.

The most recent being that Seth bloke who was shot in Washington apparently a botched robbery, yet he still had his fone, wallet and expensive watch on him. He was supposedly the one to leak the 'Podesta emails' to WikiLeaks. Look at the donations to the Clinton Foundation, cross reference them with Bill's speaking engagements and meeting that Hilary had while Sec. of State.
I highly doubt Trump is a cleanboi, you don't became a billionaire by playing fairly. The reason I like Trump is because he has shone a big fat spotlight on the Left's hypocrisy and has given em the opportunity to show their true colours, which they have done spectacularly! Before it was Trump v Hilary, I was very much in the 'Anyone but Trump' category. When it became clear that the Dems were going to nominate Clinton, the only sensible option was Trump.
