I have been elected Party President of Revolution and Libertas. After my absence the past time I'm happy to represent the party I have been member of ever since its existence. Although I don't plan to be as active as I once was (essentially running the eNetherlands 24/7) I felt called upon running for Party President after recent remarks about ReL in articles. Without smearing too much about the issue, ReL if seen as guilty for the current inactivity due to their stance against the forum-establishment. I was especially amused when one of our countrymen - asked by a new player what party he should join - suggested all parties, except for ReL. The #1 party nonetheless!
We in ReL have a rich history of ruffling feathers when needed and committing to our country when asked. I'd like to continue that policy once again by revitalizing the party. But besides the ambitions of whatever party, I have come to accept the fact that the eNetherlands is on a downward road - as is the rest of eRepublik. Major event that happened to us in the past - like defeating nations like Germany, Italy & Croatia and us aiding in other major wars in a meaningful ways - are sadly of the past.
That doesn't mean there is nothing to fight for any more. There are still meaningful assets in the eNetherlands that we are proud of. The people that have sticked around our country for years, for example. The new citizens that still join our country - despite the status of eRepublik in 2016. Stable and strong institutions like DAF and our governments (I dare to say that no other country has such a fleshed out financial system as we do).
However, we in ReL do too have a past of being critical of the excesses of the system. Ever since the implementation of the Dictatorship and the lack of activity the political field in the eNetherlands has become a sham of its former self. A facade that only serves those who happen to 'know' how it works simply by the fact they have been around for so long and/or occupy administrative functions. With this massive disparity between the few citizens that are left and the political field, we see ourselves stagnating. Let me give you an example: Since August the only political discussions (except for 1 or 2 exceptions) held are mere 'elections' for administrative posts on the forum that have no power in-game. Even worse, most of these elections require multiple rounds because the massive disinterest in such shows are causing failing quorums.
Just because we are on a low point already, doesn't mean we have to throw our arms in the air and let the carriage crash even further down. Revolution and Libertas looks forward to press such issues forward more actively and hopes to re-engage the society once again in what the fate of our country should be. We are looking forward to work with you!
Kind regards,
NoTie112,
Party President of Revolution and Libertas.

Dont trust him
LOL ReL it's not guilty of the inactivity cause they are not in the forum or whatever.
It has just been a dead party for too many months. Running for CP month after month without even a single paper or public announcement is a shame. I would not recommend anyone to join this party either, it's not that the rest of the parties are full of life, but u can at least see one or two active persons there.
ReL contains more active people than most parties, as in those that play the game regularly. That they have been silenced (by force or by themselves I leave that up to the reader) doesn't change that.
Also, running for CP month after month without announcement as opposed to delivering the same old boring conservative politicians for CP that are to blame for the stagnation of eNL? I don't know what is worse.
I wouldn't recommend anyone joining DemNL, because they stand for the status quo (which we all pretend to hate) and haven't contributed in any meaningful ways to eNL for years - bar some individuals like you - except for nagging about irrelevant administrative rules on a dead forum no one cares about.
Well, maybe being CP, MoFA and MoD is not contributing to the country in your opinion. I think neither Shawty (who has been running the country almost on his own in some of the recent months) nor Arcanic (who also has been CP and vCP lately) deserve to be said that haven't been contributing.
I'm just pointing the obvious two, there have been others like flo rida, djirtsdew or fiona who also have been helping wherever they could.
If they are good or bad is up to opinion, what is not that is that they have been helping as much as they have been able when no one else has been around.
DemNL is a party of individuals. I still think people see an old version of DemNL which isn't true for many years. There isn't a general policy or goal. There are just some active politicians who debate stuff (however the discussions are less than before). DemNL didn't contribute anything the last few years, only the politicians who are member of DemNL did contribute to the country. Without jordic, Shawty, Arcanic, ElGorro, Mattio, Lancer, Legendardisch, Willem and djirtsdew, the country wouldn't be where it is today. But their achievements are based on their own individual effort, opinions and perspectives. Many of them never agree with each other for example. In that way DemNL is a different kind of party I think. It is a place for individuals to actively discuss stuff with eachother, to learn the game and to shape your own opinion. It is not a party with a common goal or the same opinions. Same goes for VN. I don't know about the internal party structure of ReL and GPN. I&W is more in line.
I think it is better for a new politician to join a place where there is active discussion, guidance and freedom, than a party which has still it's ideological feathers. But if you agree with the ideology, than it is better to join such a party.
By the way, the active discussion is dropping down in DemNL. The party forum is dead, while before I left DemNL to join VN, there was still activity there.
Regarding your last paragraph: DemNL stands for the status quo, because they are at least prepared to participate in all governments, and therefore they are typically part of these governments.
And indeed DemNL is all about such individuals. I've done my share of gov work in the past, but am too busy atm. But perhaps later I'll also stand up again.
I'm sure you can see the contrast with a party that does not participate at all... Or a party that acts as one person. In your absence ReL became absent. And in your presence you seemed to be the dictator instead of CP.
And of course any good congress begins to complain that they are being ignored etc. Calling that nagging about irrelevant administrative rules is something I cannot agree with. Any decision that has an effect for more than a CP term should be checked by congress. Perhaps writing this literally in the law book would be a good idea...
Calling our forum dead, well it is just as dead as this game... With a few handfuls of players really active in eNL in-game it is not really surprising that the forum is getting quiet.
Glad to amuse you with my comment 😃 didn't recommend ReL because no one has been involved in actual politics for several months. All other larties i mentionned have atleast one active politician 🙂
I don't have an issue with ReL but when not even one of their players wants to join a gov i would not send a new player to the party
Ps i hope you can turn ReL into a politically active party one again..
To everyone outside of ReL: ReL = NoTie112 when u left nothing happened anymore.
I'm glad you are back and found the motivation to write such an article and to do this again. Maybe your spirit can change my mind of not contributing to anything related to politics. The people who are the most nuanced and like to discuss things first before they act, never act, and hardly discuss anymore. They can be moved to change things, because change is very scary. The people who shout loudest are the people who usually don't care about anything, until they feel something is affecting them. I always feel ReL is the kind of party with the most people of the last sort.
I hope you can voice the people who feel in the right place with ReL. There is something wrong, which other people of other parties can't fix. A candidate who never communicates (Since I'm back I've not seen GDLR say anything anywhere), gets almost half of the votes. That means she stands for something, but I don't know what it is, and I don't know what the people want who vote for her, because there is a lack of information and communication. If you want to fix that, it is the right party to join. I was in doubt to join ReL, to see what is going on there and hope to help them, but I can't be bothered really. So I just joined DemNL again and read (and hopefully write) articles and do nothing.
I would recommend to anyone who joins eNL and isn't familiar in eDutch politics to join an active party. You need people who guide you. If there wasn't Willem the Conqueror, djirtsdew, Arcanic and Elgorro when I first joined erepublik and DemNL, I quit a long time ago.
Now with you back in ReL, there will be activity again (and not only internal). Anyway, good luck. If you need help with anything, and you think I can help, don't hesitate to ask.
Been here for over two years... Doing congress stuff since June... I have almost zero interest in this political shithole we call government. Just doing my duty with training and voting just so quorum gets met. Nothing more...
You are right rel is not so active atm. But no reason for me to leave it for a more active one... Rel stands for something. And I want to stick with it..
Off topic.. Back to my evening job
On 43k strength now received no help from the government at the time I started which was not REL no help on the shitty forums which are a hassle to access. Will continue to train and work every day until callled for. Part of the reason I could not be active was the petty 90 gold or whatever the finance minister would not lend me when I needed it. I`m sure my post`s are still on the forums and the shitty replies why I could not LEND the money. Not very inviting for new players at all. That is where the chit starts and why new players don`t carry on. So screw all parties fix the basics by supporting new players then look at politics. You can`t just have chiefs you need indians as well.
