President Tyler Bubblar recites the oath of office. He was elected to his eighth non-consecutive term on October 5th by a rather slim margin.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7th, DAY 4704

BUBBLAR WINS ELECTION, INAUGURATED
WASHINGTON, D.C.

The room was rather quiet when the election was called in the early morning hours on October 6th by the larger networks, but the champagne eventually flowed for Tyler Bubblar, who has won his eighth term as President of the United States.

With razor slim margins in New York, Maine, and Pennsylvania, it wasn't until nearly 4am Eastern when it was finally called. Recounts are already in progress in those states, with members of the Rygell campaign waiting on bated breath for even a sliver of hope.

The election comes at a tumultuous time in the New World, as resources have dwindled and national governments are inching closer to open war to fight for the remaining resources.

Though the editorial staff of the eCanadian Business Weekly reached out to President Bubblar, no reply was given by the time of the publication deadline. Bubblar ran on a platform of moving the United States to a pro-Asterian position, which would bring North America under the same circle of alliances for the first time in a long time.

Tyler Bubblar has served in the position of President dutifully many times before, and there are virtually no misgivings on his qualifications for the office. He is also the President who gets to brag of reaching a historic milestone, as he has just become the 100th President of the United States.

Meanwhile, on this side of the border, the election was far less contentious and produced a unanimous vote for Prime Minister Exalted Druid, who will form his 24th government. Both Exalted Druid and Tyler Bubblar are their country's most prolific national leaders, each combining for over two and half years of experience governing their respective nations.

The Electoral College victory by President Bubblar was an improvement on his share of the popular vote, but still slim.

SEASON OPENS FOR eCANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE
VICTORIA, B.C.

The defending Sutler Cup champion Victoria Cougars took the ice today against the Vancouver Kitsilanos in a 4-2 loss to the visitors, but you wouldn't know it from the sold-out crowd that packed The Barn on Blanshard.

The city is still in a championship hangover, the city's first national-level championship since 1925, when the unrelated PCHL Victoria Cougars won the Stanley Cup, the last non-NHL team to win it.

Victoria is 32-10-0 to start the season, with no sense of the pace slowing, their only rivals being the Winnipeg Emperors, who carry an unnerving 39-0-1 record.

Meanwhile, in the Eastern Conference, the Ottawa Statesmen are currently at the top of their division, with a 31-9-2 record.

Betting odds based in Atlantic City and Las Vegas have Winnipeg going all the way to the Sutler Cup Final, going against Ottawa, though some agencies based in the UK have Victoria favoured to win the west, and complete the repeat.

Victoria swept the playoffs last season, powered by red hot goaltending, and a record year from forward Dylan Gambrell, who set the league record for goals with an absolutely stunning total of 168. He's currently on pace to break that record after taking a six year, $90 Million dollar deal from Winnipeg.
