[CP] Day Two: Ich bin ein Berliner

Day 1,600, 15:02 Published in Canada Canada by Trenton Rendell

Germany…

I awoke this morning having survived my first day as President. I was assured that I’ve had a good first day because there were no Impeachment votes motioned.

There weren’t as many PMs in my inbox as there was yesterday but still more than I’m accustomed to. There was however, a PM from a journalist from eGermany. He requested to do an interview with me for his newspaper, I happily accepted. I’m always open to interviews and questions. There were 12 questions in total but 1 question really caught my attention.

7. Please be honest - Would you like to switch "your" eCanada with a country like eGermany, where many enemies and other countries are in one spot? It seems - For me - eCanada is geographically isolated above eUSA

This caught my attention because I, like many other eCanadians, take our location on the globe for granted. We are 1 of 3 nations on an entire continent and the closest nation to us is our greatest ally. Many nations in Europe and Asia are surrounded by 3, 4 maybe 5 other nations and many of those nations aren’t fortunate enough to be allies with all their neighbors. I never really thought about how others in other nations play this game. Play in constant fear of invasion, every move must be made in consideration of their neighboring countries.

I thought about eCanada, what if we were surrounded by a constant threat? How would that change our history, our actions. Having been able to evolve without that fear, we’ve became too comfortable. Without that constant threat from the outside, we’ve started to fear the inside. We’ve started to fear each other, Norsefire, EPC, Simon Boucher-Ruest. Do we need to be invaded to find our similarities, to make peace with each other?

For those who would like to read the entire interview you can find it here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-einfoblatt-interviewing-the-eworld-2-ecan-de-en--2003264/1/20

Once again thank Kwakie for his time and great interview. Show him some love.

Moving on to international news, we are in the process of signing a MPP with Italy and a MPP with France and Ireland, two of our allies in the war against the UK. I expect them to pass.

Yesterday I wrote that President Artela said she would motion a request to remove eCanada from Terra. I can ensure the eCanadian people that she will not move to motion our removal and she is excited to see what eCanada can bring to the table.

That’s about it, Luke Peters has resigned from his post as Comptroller, and I’d like to take this time to thank Mr. Peters for this time and dedication to making sure the government runs smoothly. I have appointed Simon Boucher-Ruest as the new Comptroller.

Until tomorrow...

I love you all
