WAM vs Workers
Releasethe Krakken
In a normal industry - the amount of workers , their function and what they are paid is key. One can run a 1 man business quite easily for example in the entertainment industry. As long as the amount of work is equal to the amount of hours you have available.
Plato introduced the WAM click function(Work as Manager) allowing us from the start of my eLife to work in a factory as manager. Counterbalancing it against your energy which is replenished using time. So in fact Plato created a amount of work = amount of time model for us a long time ago.
Plato perhaps simplified the concept of a factory to factory profit = amount of products produced x prize of product.
In fact Plato eliminated the variable function and ability of worker with a mere 1 worker = 1 factory production and later 1 worker = number of times worker worked x production.
All workers is not equal in real life I saw this concept with a builder when he had to do a lot of tear up work he brought a young muscular and strong worker when he just had to build he brought in a normal worker. But in eRepublik we get all workers working is equal to 1 work ticket but some workers can depending on their houses available work x amount of times more than a normal worker.
HERE is the REALITY THOUGH
The person that your going to hire is more likely to be a normal once a day if your lucky worker.
And this is where the worker vs wam clicks concept that so many propose fails.
If your lucky you get to keep 1 worker
......and if your lucky he will work each day for you
..............and if your lucky it will still leave you with a profit
BUT
Your normally never get to keep 1 worker for long
......they almost never continuosly work each day for you
...............they most of the time do not really provide a profit.
So when your comparing apple v pears and tell us get rid of WAM remember:
This maybe Wam in your opinion
But in reality this is being dependent on workers:
We see currently on reality tv a romanticizing of outhouses. We lived in the past in a house with an outhouse in a holiday town with public outhouses. There is nothing romantic in it especially in a place with lots of spiders and others critters and specifically not of the smell as well.
But ok I'm off topic.
Fact is the worker model just never get going. Basically in very few players there is the self motivation to excel. Basically one usually despite what you reward them just saw them slowly fizzle out and fade to black.
Working just needs to much concentrated effort for your average slacker and 2 clicker.
I have 1 constant worker I pay in weps. Other than that I probably had 13 workers at one time who worked at their peak at 70 efficiency but soon fizzled out.

In short workers will never be worth the effort of keeping a team going.
Workers is mostly fickle , lazy quickly bored and not the most dependable type of persons. And in Ireland we have the multi crowd that will send their multis to work for you or let me call it what it is fill the spot. Because they usually will work 1 day and then just quit.
One get good workers but to compare the 1 or 2 that you will get to the current wam click is not even in the same ballpark. However you increase the ability wont change the fact that the current wam click will always be able to do more.
Which is from the standpoint of a entrepreneur not a commune owner.
So tldr if anyone proposes replacving wam with workers

Whats wrong now is too much free stuff, why go to the bother of working to earn money for food & weapons when people/countries are willing to supply you 24/7 with all your needs!!
Because of this mentality the game has gradually turned in just a click & fight game only (with free stuff), rather than the game it started out as with social, economic & military challenges where you had to actually put a bit on effort into it to get anywhere.
Game became what it is because of the lack of economy module. It's not country's fault they supply. It's Admin's fault because there's overproduction of everything.
Once buybot has been removed, this happened.
Beta/V1 was a very good game, the economic module worked (maybe not perfect), we had separate exchange rates/Money market for each country, people had to actually think before they bought currency/goods on overseas markets, now, they made it too easy one currency/money market for all, and the game sucks because of it.
tbh my memory of version 1 is a bit sketchy. but tbh i am not certain if you could take version 2 back to version 1. the grind to become moderately successful is so long i cannot condone touching production rather introduce buybots.
also from a legal point of view if i spend rl money in buying factories i could sue you for their full buy value if you nerf them to nothingness.
We did not need buybots in V1, we had a working market economy, and all grades of factory were economically viable unlike now where self production is the name of the game, hiring employees is just a waste of time/money and in most cases uneconomic (but people still do it)
There should be a "no work, I am lazy and remain in my hammock" button where you get "I am not a neurotic cog in the machine" points. And those, should win wars XD
v
u have a hammock 😛?

I must protest at this article. I feel my good name as a worker is being called into question...of course you might be completely correct, and I am the exception that proves the rule.
