One has followed every battle that Taiwan wins Jeollanam-do (and an AFA congressman hasn't made a rogue NE proposal). If you haven't figured out by now that's the plan than you don't deserve to be a congressman. This is why they keep from the congressional forums, because if somehow you aren't a PTO group the only other option is for your entire party to be made up of the stupidest people in the entire e-World.

Tell AFA congressmen what? Please don't propose BS like you have been doing all these months? Please go though IES when granting citizenships? Please acknowledge proper congressional procedures that have been in place for years? I thought you rejected all that stuff. The AFA has chosen to act unilaterally in Congress. You do not consult with others in congress. Do you even have channels of communication with the rest of the eUSA? Did you ask? AFA proposals are not part of some larger consensus. This is all yours. I've got to be honest, I don't understand how congress (in eRepublik) works, but how is it that they keep doing this? Are you guys just that inept? If they can propose Spain at the drop of a hat, then why don't one of you propose Taiwan the same way? Please, educate me, because you are all starting to look like fools.

We had to wait for Taiwan to win that battle so that we shared a border.
We didn't have a border with Taiwan to declare them as NE until after the AFA had proposed Spain.

So then maybe it's time to change tactics. They always seem to be one step ahead of you guys. Maybe the next time they get the best of you , you should keep it under wraps 'cause you all are starting to lose the faith of your constituents.

The only reason they get away with this kind of stuff is because the game mechanics allow them to be "one step ahead of us" as you put it.
In reality there is nothing in game we can do about anything they do other then veto their proposals and try to raise awareness of the 2-clickers who don't know that this is going on. Congress couldn't have done anything to stop this proposal even if RGR had written an article saying he was going to do it.
The only way to stop them is to knock them out of the top 5, which will never happen because of their rampant use of multi's and freely giving CS's to foreigners.

Any congressman can make a proposal but once that proposal is made another like it cannot be made for 24 hours (or seven days in the case of an impeachment). Thus any congressman can screw things up if he wants to. Game mechanics.

So I say again: Maybe it's time to change tactics. I'll tell you this; when I first rejoined the game, nobody from the main parties contacted me and warned me about AFA. I figured it out on my own. As a matter of fact, not once did I receive anything warning me about AFA until Mercurious100 sent me something (btw dude, I miss your messages). Hell, my own party hardly ever sends me anything dealing with politics. For all the bitching you guys do, you aren't very proactive. You expect the newbies to come to you on forums and IRC, but it ain't gonna happen. The only way you're going to gain ground is to go to the people directly and you don't do it. So where does that leave you? Crying day after day about how AFA bested you yet again.

DP, you are right of course. Please reach out to the eUSA Dept. of Education and the eUSA Dept. of the Interior and help. Rainy Sunday and Mr. Swagg need you.

It's actually in the new welcome message as of this month, I believe.
So there have been steps made to educating new players but there's only so much anyone can do.

Dogpyle, you're off to a good start. Leaving comments, responding to and sending PMs lets people know you're alive and paying attention. I try to monitor feeds and comments for questions and misinformation too but forums and irc remain integral parts of the community. Some people do spend a little too much time there and not enough in game but I find most are happy to help if you shoot them a message and grab their attention.

When you rejoined, did you read the first welcome message sent from the Country President?

Dogpyle does make a good point. I am someone who is unwilling to go to eUSA forums / irc and that does shut me out of a lot things. While I am content to stay within the game (and oppose the AFA), I imagine the AFA gets recruits from several different marginalized groups within the eUSA. Perhaps some strategy could emerge to counter the marginalized players. It is counter insurgency tactics 101.

For example, a political party that is allied to Unity, but focuses on players who do not use the eUSA forums.

So first you say "I don't understand how any of this works because I'm a noob" and then "Please educate me" but then go on to criticize everyone else because you, in your ignorance, decide they must be fools. That makes a ton of sense, yeah it does.

You're right. I am ignorant to the goings on of congress. But I'm not the one complaining daily about how AFA duped us again, am I? I'm questioning how the so called "good guys" can complain day after day and not do anything about it. "Our hands are tied." they say. "AFA cheats." they say. Ok, if they are cheating, how is it they get away with it? Then why aren't "we" cheating the same way? If eRep forbids multi's, then how come it isn't being brought to the admins attention? And if it is, and they aren't doing anything about it, then why aren't "we" using multi's as well?
I'm questioning, and yes, I'm criticizing, is that not my right as an eUS citizen? I see why a lot of people get disenfranchised with this game. It's not AFA and RGR (they actually make the game interesting), it's people like you Avruch. You expect us to follow like blind sheep. Do as we say and all that. The second we question your decisions and policies we're "noobs", and we should shut up and learn the game mechanics. Well, guess what? I'm not going to shut up. I'm going to question "why?" or "how?" every chance I get. Maybe you should too. Dogpyle: If you were more familiar with what was going on, and with game mechanics, you would have the answers to these questions. Again, you are mistaking your ignorance for the incompetence of others. And sure, you have a right to criticize, question, and to be ignorant. Others have an equal right to point out that your criticism is invalid and based in ignorance, We should be able to do that without you trying to accuse us of stifling your right to criticize.

No one expects you to follow like blind sheep. We expect you to take a few minutes to learn for yourself before you spout off as if you know something. We expect you to attempt to contribute before trying to "call to account" those who do or have. If you knew anything, and weren't blasting off as a johnny-come-lately know it all, you'd know that the fundamental problem is the lack of people who give a crap anymore and the declining population of players from the U.S. The AFA isn't stocked with geniuses anymore than its opponents are incompetent. They take advantage of game mechanics that leave openings for PTOs, and use rhetoric that convinces newbies like yourself that they are something they aren't.

And, frankly, you are a noob. The game mechanics aren't exactly complex, but you haven't bothered to learn them. People have played this game for years, but after a couple of weeks here you break out mini-lectures about how obviously none of us know what we're doing and if the world isn't rosy perfect we must be too stupid to make it that way. So, sure - there are ways for newbies to get involved and make a difference, but you haven't tried them. So until you pitch in, or at least bother to learn a few things, don't be shocked when people call you a noob and tell you to sit down.

Tell you what Avruch; All the time you've wasted telling me I'm a noob, I should go learn, blah, blah, blah, you could have educated me. Hell, me and 794 subscribers. You could have taken a few minutes of your time and taught all of us idiot noobs that just can't seem to take this game as seriously as you do, what it is we're missing. Not one thing. You could have explained why AFA is able to exploit this loophole, or how they are able to use that thingy majig. But you don't. You're a broken record with absolutely no substance.
