The War With Austria

War looms, my brothers. Later today we will see an opening move in a war against the Austrians. Now you might ask, why are we fighting the Austrians? Where did this come from?
Well I'll start with why we are fighting the Austrians. From what I've been able to gather, it is a simple strategy with our country in mind. We have been in countless wars throughout our country's existence, with a number of massive countries that have crushed us easily, and only at their mercy have we won. This drives much of the new population out of our country and into more established countries, with promise of success and power. This my friends, is a vicious cycle as it keeps us from becoming established and gaining power. Frankly, it's always been a big problem here, and the idea behind the war is to establish us as a small world power.
By starting a war with a country such as Austria, which is similar in size and military might to us, we have a shot at winning the war and building some power and hype. It isn't a hopeless battle that we never the less, pour damage into in the vain hope that we'll stay on the map. We have a shot at winning and expanding, hopefully leading to population growth and an increased presence in the eWorld.
Additionally, we give ourselves a rally point, something that should bring us together as a country. To train our military better and provide fights for our people, fights that aren't hopeless and defensive.
Now to move on, why Austria? These details are a bit more fuzzy than I'd like, but from what I've heard from government members current and past, in the past few months relations with Austria have degraded. We've fallen out of regular contact with them, and support has not been flowing back and forth as it should have. It seems we needed a target, and given the past few months, Austria was a good size and our relations were nearly nonexistent.
So I want to see a good showing from you folks, lets show the eWorld that we're strong, and lets get this country moving in the right direction!

They should be ally not natural enemy rally around smaller country's and band this way a larger country will always throw you under the bus as new options arise for them this is a small country and needs to be aligned with the like or smaller .
Do you know Austria is allied with Slovenia and Romania? I hope so.
Yes LucasFTM, Austria and Slovenia have been friends for ages and we do not intend to change that. We didn't help them occupy you however and tried to help negotiations more than once, though sadly never with any success.
We've considered Switzerland as a friend and while relations have admittedly dipped (not least due to Switzerland's attack on us last month that was futile from the beginning), we would have never even thought about attacking you without extensive talks (-> trainwar). We do not want any real hostilities between us because none of us is likely to win anything of value in this war. Everyone here knows that hoping for a babyboom because of this war between CH and AUT is totally unrealistic.
Thus it is with a heavy heart that Austria meets your challenge. I still hope we can find some agreement for both sides and invite you to speak with us via PM or on IRC (#austria or #cefa).
There is value of this war for eSwitzerland and it was explained in 3 articles. Please don't tell me Austria was friendly with switzerland last years, you are always on the opposite side, we are no more in cefa and non existent relations. If Austria don't try to grow it's population is not swiss fault, but we are trying to grow ours and we will try all possible ways to make this country attractive. Oh, and Switzerland climbed 15 positions in tournament with 2 rounds of fight, this is not good? For sure it's not good for Austria because you guys don't care what's happening here.
