The Netherlands are our friends

Lately there has been a debate in eSweden regarding the trial membership for eNetherlands in the Asgardian alliance, and for some reason this has in many ears not been a positive thing. One might ask why, and from what I’ve seen, the two main reasons for the discontent is this:
1. Because people don’t know why the Netherlands wants to join Asgard, and what they will demand from us.
2. Because the Netherlands is permawiped by Poland (And we don’t want to get on Polands bad side).
I will try to shed some light upon these two questions, starting with the first one.
1.They have a hidden agenda!
I’ve heard this conspiracy more times than I have been bothered to count. People are worried that eNL will demand from Asgard to declare a full-out war against Poland.
We have been conversing time and time again with the ruling people of eNL, and they fully understand that our alliance as it is right now can’t take on Poland. Why would they want to join then? Well, imagine yourself in their seat. How fun is it to live in a perma-wiped country with nothing to do, no meaningful battles, and no connection to the rest of the world?
What eNL seek in Asgard are friends, battles which have meaningful outcomes, and of course better connections with the countries of the alliance. They genuinely want to help us, and we answer that with so much suspicion. Personally, I think that is pretty sad.
2. NL is conquered by Poland! We don’t want to get on Poland’s bad side!
People using this argument must look around a little bit. For example on eSweden. How can it possibly be that we have been wiped by eLithuania for half a year? Is it possibly because eLithuania is militarily superior? HELL NO! The reason we’ve been wiped by them is because they’ve been helped to keep our land by whom? Mainly by Poland.
It is time to realize that Poland isn’t our friend, and hasn’t been since the beginning of Asgard (Please recall our war with the ABC).
So what if NL is wiped? Sweden is wiped too (Occassionally regaining and losing Gotland). Canada have been wiped by Spain pretty much ever since they joined Asgard (Congratulations to your victory in Nunavut btw!). Norway is wiped. Finland is really the only country in Asgard that still has the majority of its provinces left.
Summing it up
We are all a wiped happy family that throughout losing our countries still endure as an alliance. That endurance is both very impressive, and very valuable. If we can do it together, why can’t the Netherlands endure together with us? When it all boils down, we have an amazing alliance of brotherhood in Asgard, but we are quite likely the weakest military alliance in the world, and that can also be seen by the territory that is under Asgard-control.
I am not promoting a rapid expansion with loose chains. I am however promoting a country that has stood by our side for a long time. The Netherlands needs Asgard, and Asgard needs the Netherlands.
Long live Norway.
Long live Finland.
Long live Canada.
Long live Sweden.
Long live the Netherlands.
Long live Asgard.

Please show me where someone has said this. And since you use "people" which is plural I'd like to see more than one example of it. Preferably with a link to the comment itself.

1. They will demand things from us. It would be their right as a member of Asgard to do so. The treaty states it and as members we are obliged to help.
"§2 Members of the alliance pledge to defend its member countries against any and all foreign enemies, and help them in their war(s)."
Maybe not today but eventually they will and that is simply a battle we can not win and it will most likely result in discontent between the member states.

2. We are already on Polands bad side, the difference however, is that we don't have to be forever. None of our current members has anything that Poland needs which means that this could change.
If we take in NL however, who has what they need, we will not be able to end up on their good side. I'm not willing to become that locked up because of NL.

Wrong, they are militarily superior.
Just because we are currently wiped doesn't create an argument to invite other wiped nations. Especially not one who has Poland as a natural enemy.
I won't link it to you, because it is out there if you just look for it. You have actually stated the same thing in this comment if you read between the lines. It is the same argument that surfaces every time, even if it is not word for word how I've depicted it in this article.
1. Of course we will help them, but we've made it very clear we won't be able to help them against Poland.
2. The Netherlands have more or less accepted that their fate in this game is to be wiped by Poland, as so many other countries before them. Only because we accept them into our alliance doesn't mean we're starting WWIII with Poland.

Yes, they are over eSweden, but not over Asgard.
We aren't currently wiped. We have been wiped for a for a long period now, just hoping that TWO will implode. Are we really going to sit on our butts and wait for that, or should we use the time to make Asgard stronger, so we will be in an even better position to act when TWO does implode?
As of right now Asgard is probably the weakest alliance in the game, and there is no sign of that changing. What is the point with a weak military alliance? There is a lot of talk of brotherhood within the alliance, which is fundamentally important, but doesn't change the fact that we need more/stronger brothers in order to be able to fend off our enemies and protect our brotherhood.

since ONE´s fall poland hasnt even been giving us a hinch of that they might not hate us...there is no chance in hell (or anywhere else) that they will like us again so that argue wont work...they have been fighting us 24/7 for god sake so where do you even see a possibility that they might want to be friends later in year 3333? as long as we wont join two they will never let us be...

We will not endure by expanding without control. This process is already tearing us apart, and it is happening fast. I for one do not want to be in an alliance that does not respect the right of its members to make up their own minds.

To accept a country that has strong ties with most members of Asgard and have been actively supporting Asgard's members wars for mounts. Plus wanting to join fully accepted of the faith that we can not count on Asgard or anyone to free us from TWO oppression, so in essence offering you free damage, all so we Dutch have good place to aim our fights, and might actually see them won, even if it isn't a win for us personally that it will be for our friends at least makes the game more interesting again.
Your right.. that sounds like expanding totally out of control, wonder what you would say is expanding in a good rate cause sounds more like you never want to expand future than it is now with such standards.
