The Future is Now!
Quim B. Muffins
Change can and will happen, it must, and try as some might to stop it, they’ll eventually be out-muscled by the sheer mass of reality. Everything evolves, it’s the circle of life.
We are at a crossroads in eCandain politics. The winds of change, namely Clan Wolf, the CPF and other like minded parties, are blowing hard at the wall of status quo, a.k.a. the Coalition. This is a fight that has been fought time and time again. Clan Wolf and its friends are but the next wave of dissent. Many an eCanadian has tried to steer this fine country’s politics away from corruption and oligarchy. Some of our greatest players have left eCanada out of disgust for what has become of its politics. We owe it to those that fought before us, to continue the fight. We owe it to eCanada to win it.
“It is not enough merely to call for freedom, democracy and human rights. There has to be a united determination to persevere in the struggle, to make sacrifices in the name of enduring truths, to resist the corrupting influences of desire, ill will, ignorance, and fear." – Aung San Suu Kyi – Burmese Prime Minster-elect, General Secretary of the National League for Democracy (Myanmar)
This is not going to be an easy fight. These Congressional Elections are but another battle, albeit on a brand new battlefield (anyone else feel like a guinea pig?). The enemies of positive politics are strong. They are masters of corruption. They have an unmatched bag of tricks. They aren’t just going to roll over. But it is a fight that every eCanadian needs us to win. eCanada needs and deserves an honest, uncorrupt Congress. Times are tough. eCanada can no longer be lead by folks that act like bored 15-year-old boys. The days of lulz politics are over. We need solid policy and open government, if we hope to get through the hard times, stronger and better able to meet the challenges of the future.
I would like to personally thank, not only my own members, especially those that have chosen to represent Clan Wolf in Congress, but also my friends in the CPF who have a great Congressional line up in their own right. I have cherished the cooperation that the CPF has offered these last few weeks. Our shared vision of positive, corruption-free politics crosses party lines and gives me renewed hope for eCanada’s future. We’ll get there with a little help from our friends.
“I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.”
- Thomas Jefferson
There will be much electioneering and debate in the next 24 hours or so. The electorate is going to be bombarded with articles and shouts. Promises will be made. You will be bribed to vote this way or that. My only hope eCanada, and this is all I ask, it is that you vote with your conscience, not with concern for weapons supply or bank account. Vote, just this once for a party that truly wants to make eCanada better. Resist the status quo. We have an opportunity to shape the future of eCanadian politics, it would be a pity to waste it.
On the 25th vote Clan Wolf. The future is bright.
Sincerely,
Quimbie Muffins (Clan Wolf Party President)

Best of luck to Clan Wolf.
Thanks man. I appreciate all your cooperation and support. To a better eCanada! *clink*
Clan Wolf and CPF - The dictatorship times are over, ZOO times are taking over.
Weeee!
A good message to support no matter what party you're in. eCanada is in tight economic times and is drifting without a clear set of allies/alliance. Time to buckle down and leave behind the lulz and unilateral power-mongering.
Thanks Plugson. Here's to acting like an adult.
*stands up and gives the slow clap of uncomprimising gentleman*
You're a good man TheBurningMan. *bows*

Gh0st3rr after listening to that, I feel like I am being called out for an encore.
Well Bud, I am guessing that ppl like wht u write then 😃
Beware of sheep in wolves clothing!
😛
Time for responsible government. Vote Clan Wolf.
We can't get responsible government in real life. What makes you think we can in a game?
😛
@Homer
My plans for nuclear war were denied so I have nothing else irresponsible to do.
Great article as always! 😁
I'm sure you can think of something Zianni
The logic of your argument is fuzzy Homer. If something is unattainable in real life, why wouldn't it be attainable in a controlled environment like a game?
It was a light hearted remark Quimbie, but the logic is actually quite sound. In real life politics is a serious business because it affects real things like employment, war etc. and yet we still end up with a bunch of clowns running the show in most cases.
Your argument that this is a controlled environment is fuzzy logic. You can't control anyone else in this game any more than I can.
The fact that this is just a game leaves it open to people being less responsible for many reasons, the least of which is that nothing here is real so our decisions don't have any real effect.
Anyway, as I said it was just a light hearted comment. Save your attack for the real trolls. 😛
I was being lighthearted, I am sorry if you thought I was treating you like a troll. But I disagree that this game is not a controlled environment. There are mechanics in this game that limit what specific players and groups of players can and can not due. I agree that everything is exaggerated, I mean surely Rolo isn't a cheater and a thief in real life... he only place a sociopath on eRep. That said, there is only so many options that any given player or group have.
I can't control anyone in this game, or in real life. But the mechanics of this game does set controls or limits as to how it is played. The real world is much more random. Corruption at the political level, in the real world, has been able to blossom throughout the years, to the point where it is an Olympic sport. Corruption in eRep is still in its infancy and controlled large by the parameters of game play.
Anyway, it matters not. Potato potatoe, yada, yada.
