The Economist ~ A few boring graphs

Day 1,170, 18:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Spite313

Dear friends,

Just a brief article today. My last two articles were semi-focused around two rival Balkan powers: Macedonia & Bulgaria. The two have been at loggerheads since Macedonia was created, and as I have friends in both countries I am trying to stay impartial 🙂 Anyway, Macedonia was wiped shortly after my last article, though its economy has proved surprisingly resilient despite this fact. Bulgaria is intermittently surging now, though isn’t quite reaching its war height.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to provide some kind of regional context for a few major regions in eRepublik. Since we were just recently discussing the Balkans, I have decided to start there. The graph below is a poor man’s infographic showing the relative incomes of the various countries involved. As you can tell I have 0 graphical skills, and so I have used giant red dots to represent income: the bigger the income, the bigger the dot. This information comes from the week ending 30th January. Be aware that Macedonia was partly occupied at this point, as was Turkey. I will try to produce new infographics over time so you can compare.

Polka dot Balkans

And because I can’t do infographics, something more in my league...

A graph 😮 shock horror

I’m not going to go on for ages about the data. You can see what it says. If you like this sort of boring economic rubbish, vote it and more importantly sub & tell the other 6 people in the world who might be interested to sub too. Oh- BRL is 0.012/0.013 at the minute but I expect it to rise over the next few weeks. CAD is rather low as well, and IDR is likely to spring back provided you can judge it’s low point accurately. I wouldn’t buy up any of the bigger currencies, they probably won’t rise dramatically and they’re hard to sell.
