The Bacon Player

It seems that "elitist" is the worst slander one player can apply to another in this game. If you are with the "elite", you are presumed to have only one goal - the victimization of the common player to your own enrichment.

There are numerous flaws in this statement, not least among them that it's actually impossible. That aside, however, let's look at this from a gaming point of view. Let's replace the word "elite" with "bacon" to deprive the word of its emotional leverage.

The Bacon player seeks to become richer, stronger, and more powerful. The Bacon player will take any wealth that other players cannot hold, and keep that wealth for himself. The Bacon player will use his resources to improve his personal standing and prowess, then spend any remainder for the betterment of his own military unit, political party, eNation, and alliance, likely in that order. The Bacon player cultivates relationships with other players that improve his chances of winning elections, of securing legislation that favors his playstyle, and of convincing players in other eNations to make choices that improve his military, political, and economic success.

The Bacon player plays to win.

Are you a Bacon player? Is there anyone in the country who is not a Bacon player?

There are two candidates in one of the most hotly contested presidential elections this nation has seen since 2010. I think this is a hugely positive development for the country, and I hope the numbers are still close after the Admins wreak their terrible judgement on perceived multis.

A close election means many players are Bacon players, and this country needs more BACON!

This country needs players who aren't playing to lose. It needs players who seek the best advantage they can find. It needs players who don't shy away from making hard decisions, even costly decisions, for their own personal growth and the growth of the eNation.

TOPICAL SECTION: Be warned, my own political views follow.

As a Bacon player, I would like to see this eNation establish and maintain an alliance with stable, trustworthy countries. Countries like Canada and Croatia have multiple factions of Bacon players, and all of those factions are willing to honor the agreements made by the eNation, even if they were made by other factions.

Spain and Poland also have multiple factions, but I don't believe they are all Bacon players. I think some of them are Tofu players, who gain the most joy by making other suffer, rather than by making themselves succeed. These Tofu players have gained power more than once in the past, and the eUSA left the EDEN alliance when Tofu players took over both countries in 2010. We've been at war with Spain and Poland since, even during times when Bacon players ruled those countries.

Bacon players are in charge there now, and our presidential candidates are leaning toward allying with Poland, if not both countries. This worries me greatly, because the Tofu factions in those countries are still large and powerful, and the political backlash from allying with an eNation that was at war with them weeks or months ago could easily propel those Tofu factions back into power. Other countries that have been dependable allies can see this as well as I can, and will not stand by us if we step in the Tofu. This decision could leave the eUSA virtually alone on the world stage, facing Tofu in Poland and some very aggressive Bacon players in Hungary and Indonesia. I think this could easily lead to a complete wipe of the eUSA.

Thus, allying with Poland and Spain is not The Bacon Way, at least not now.
