@AD31 Just being consistent 🙂 Kurgan is harping on about Conway being allowed in the Army, when its part of the Army's ethos to be apolitical - Not my business to be judge and jury, Dail & Government are the political bodies in charge. Seanan, it is not a political matter only when a player betrays his country. At least it shouldn't be. I was a member of thecongress when Conway proposed the law on transfering the Irish money to the Bank of England. At that very same day he resigned from our congress and changed his CS to British. If you see this action as a political one, then you are mistaken.

This was a backstab on every Irish citizen, whether they are in political parties or not. And players like him should not be trusted, especially inside our country's MU, despite all his previous effort.

I was there when Conway was supplying citizen's with weapons and food and to be honest with you i didn't like the idea of him being there doing that, WHILE HE HAD A BRITISH CS.

Kurgan may have his own vendetta and he may not. This is his business not mine. All i know is what i see. Period.

AD, my opinion is a bit redundant as I carry out the decisions of the Dail & Government, not my call to make. But for you, I'd give my opinion:

Since starting 3 years ago, I've found that the use of word "traitor" has always been political. I've been involved in Irish against Irish military conflicts when the reasons have been entirely political and that word was used frequently (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1569284/1/20).

You'd have to forgive the.. naivety (as Raven puts it), but I see this as a witch hunt. Made easier by the fact Conway is unpopular; I've been promoting the tactical advantage of the Cork set up along side Sweets, Kurgan has been calling myself and Sweets traitors/British puppets for it... not many others calling me an enemy of the state. Can I presume thats because I'm not as unpopular or because I have merit in my actions (even if personally disagree)?

Yes, I think this is being handled unfairly. You only need to follow the line of assertions being thrown out by Kurgan, sir adriano prette (the CP of the Government whom Conway acted against) points out that Kurgan has changed his tune from "Conway never helped the war effort" to "helped give out supplies".

Raven mentions nativity for trusting Conway. I raise the point its naive to think this isn't political. The majority of what Kurgan says is Conway's crimes have about as much substance as Kurgan's claims that Sweet has been plundering the State's treasury... I'm very much informed on these topics and actually been witness to some of the information Kurgan denies here, is this pick&mix with credibility or am I a Kunt?

You cannot say assertions when there in Kurgans article is a copy of Conway's article vowing to fight on the side of the UK. Also to say that it is "just" a political matter is being wilfully blind.

Refusing to join a witch hunt isn't an act of support. I saw that article, I'm aware Conway vowed support to the UK and then backtracked choosing to heavily support an Irish RW. Thats not in dispute. Kurgan's original assertions that Conway had no role in the war effort was in dispute, and now hes changed that claim because he couldn't carry it off. Identifying when someone is changing their story to continue their attack is not being willfully blind, that's attention to detail (and was pointed out by SAP, the CP whom Conway actually fought against).

While the touch&pitchforks may not wish it so, this topic is about whether or not Conway's brief swap of citizenship can be redeemed. The difference between myself and a supporter, BOUD1CCA, is that I'm saying actually get what the crime was right (instead of this inaccurate and changing story) and a supporter says there wasn't a crime.

His actual mistake was blowing his lid with the government, changing citizenship to the UK, and doing 8,050,401 influence for the UK (probably against Ireland and USA - and inb4BrianBoru UK only had so many battles, he woulda had to fight against one of us). And then there was his guilt trip, and tens of millions worth of merc brought shots at redemption. That's the series of events, just because its easy to hate on Conway doesn't make Kurgan's usual rantings any less political than normal. He doesn't like the Kunts, he openly supported a PTO of their party, a PTO supposedly every other party condemned - I think its fair to say his objectivity in this matter is far from bullet proof, made obvious by his changing story.

Aside that i want to ask you something Seanan, since you are MoD and responsible for our supplies in general.

Let's say i decide to betray Ireland, next time we get wiped, openly, with articles...maybe some law proposal's too and then i just join UK. After 2 maybe 3 months of fighting on UK's side miraculously i decide to backstab UK and support with everything i got to a RW regardless if we win or lose.

As MoD would you accept my help to organaize on irc that RW and also trust me a part of goverments supplies? Just a yes or a no would be great.

Enemy of my enemy is my friend; I would accept your help organizing if I believed it would improve our chances, and if you were spending over 300 gold on buying mercenary damage, then I wouldn't have a qualm giving over a couple of hundred tanks to help supply on #free.ireland (If I couldn't) - "trust" doesn't really come into it. It wouldn't make sense for a player to buy merc damage in such quantities for one side and then nick tanks to spite the other side when it wouldn't cover anywhere near the cost of mercs. / yield as much influence.

And in this hypothetical situation, you actually were a UK citizen for just under 2 months, treated as an Irish infiltrator and dealt about 4 DO's worth of damage over a 2 month time period - I'd probably see you as sincere to Irish interests, probably what brought distrust from UK but still wait for solid proof.

Had you been Marcus or Chewie (who did ask for OP on #free.ireland) I wouldn't of - That would of been silly, contribution against Ireland was obvious and well intended.

To make things sort you say yes, regardless of how "volatile" my attitude/personality is. So basically you risk on having another known betrayal somewhere in the future (since someone did it twice on 2 different countries, what's stopping him on doing it again?).

I know your are only following our goverments lines and orders, but also the position of MoD "carries" quite some power. After all you are the head of our defense as nation. But what kind of defense we have IF we continue to trust people that have betrayed us in the past. And don;t tell me that the CP or the rest of the goverment "ordered" you to accept Conway's help.

As for the money, so far i haven't seen any hard proof (meaning screenshot) of any money he spent during that RW. As i said previously i was on irc during that day and the funny thing is i only learned these days about him selling everything he has to help our RW. You on the other hand did spend some money. Now thats an unfair premises you're starting with for me to defend my decisions, AD31. You've dismissed my decision before even considering my reasons.

There is no hard proof I spent any money either, I haven't taken screenshots, why do you believe I brought merc damage? And secondarily, I'm - me, not conway - telling you he brought merc damage because I was involved in the process - he enlisted mercenary groups, they fought, he paid them and mercenaries leaders were all happy. For the duration of this conversation, even if you think he got money from less than honest ways, please accept he used it to buy mercenary aid - if you're going to believe I brought mercenaries, then you have no reason to assume I don't mean it when I say who else brought damage. I'm saving you the hassle of personally asking the mercenary leaders he hired.

I'm not sure how much you know about the cost of mercenaries, but I wouldn't hesitate to accept. But it wasn't a trade, he just gave it so when he offered to help supply allies and citizens on #free.ireland AFTER he had started buying mercenary damage... Please consider - what would be the logic of spending 300 gold, gaining "good will" and then nicking 500 Q7 tanks (worth 22 gold)? There would be no motive, it would have cost him 278 gold and the damage he could inflict with those tanks would been about 10% of the damage brought by the 300 gold.

You talk about the risk of betrayal. Yes there was a risk, but considering what I've just said there ^ - the risk was small, the risk was acceptable. We lost that battle narrowly - we wouldn't have gotten anywhere near without the assistance he offered. I didn't install "trust", the role of the MoD to increase the odds of success for the country, the options available to me were weighed and used. Its not particularly a social role, AD, I play the numbers.

But can I just say "buying me off" implies I benefited from the transaction. And yes I did, and so did you, the transaction improved our odds and in fighting such closely fought battles caused the UK to lose face infront of their alliance.

If you're point is that by letting Conway help, I've given him a route to be accepted as an Irish citizen again and potentially betray us in the future? If the CP of the UK himself offered me tanks to help fight against her, I wouldn't turn it down because of the person offering. Doesn't mean I'd recommend them to be Governor of our treasury!

I think if any MoD thought like that, we'd be wiped alot more.

First you doubt evidence (like the change of CS to our enemy during our wipe) without mentioning the law proposal, then you doubt the evidence of the article Conway published, claiming he will fight against Ireland...then you doubt the evidence he does fight against Ireland...

Most of the people accusing Conway are not objective observers, nor do they have any history of extraordinary service to the country. They're mostly non-Irish, they're mostly of the usual set that hate the kunts generally, and they're mostly very quiet unless something about the kunts arises.

Yet clearly you continue to ignore facts. Things that did happen.

You may accept it that way, by blinding yourself on purpose but that doesn't mean everyone will/should do it. There are somethings that just cannot be covered.

Not really, the kunts were generally sparked off by something, they've rarely went after someone just because.

And that's a very non-neutral response. They attack our articles constantly "just because", and took over our party "just because". They'll claim that they're "sparked off" by something that happened long ago, as if it gives them proper reason to attack us at every chance. Brian you've proven to be a political disappointment. There are three forces in Irelan😛 Kunts, Anti-kunts, and neutrals. We, the ILP, are far from perfect due to our unwavering despising of the kunts. But it is nothing compared to the attacking done on their part. They dragged us into a political war, time and time again. They thought they could kick us over and over, as if we'd sit there and take it, all allowing them to better their own agenda at our expense.

Well they got a war, whether it's more than they asked for or not. If their goal was to get us to fight back, then they succeeded. It was a mix of government, his own and private donors supplies, he has never said that all of the supplies were his alone. the next few points you make are once again your interpretations, we may have only our word but you have nothing except your speculations. Fair enough you chose not to trust him so you didn't help him pay his debts, it is a personal choice. I did believe him so I put forward my money.

Everyone can do whatever they want with their own storage. But i don't accept GOVERMENT supplies to the hands of non Irish CS players, especially when they left the country during its darkest hour to get a British CS. That should mean something to all Ireland though, not just me!

Well if we had other Irish citizens who were on at that time and had put in the hard work that Conway had into trying to make the RW successful we wouldn't have had to give Conway the job of supplying, but the fact that he had spent the days before the RW gathering support from many different countries and then stayed up to very late hours to make sure that we were able to give out weapons was deserving enough to be entrusted with government weapons.

Adriano I did the same thing. I was supplying our friends All trough the night from 00:00 CET all the way to 06:00 CET . Only it was previous RW. It was one of the greatest RW's i have ever participated in. Till the final seconds of the war we were winning and i spent my own money to (although i had IA supplies to) on that RW. Guess who was fighting against Ireland in the final seconds when the tide turned?

Only difference is i am bragging with it. It was my duty.
