Slava Ukraini

Day 5,575, 00:36 Published in USA USA by Ronald Gipper Reagan

It has sadly been one year to the day since the full-scale, unjustified, and brutal invasion of Ukraine began. I wish there was nothing more to write about, but sadly that is not the case. My heart continues to break for the innocent people of Ukraine who have been victimized by this criminal and evil war. This should not be a left/right, or political issue. It's a matter of right and wrong. There have been murders, rapes, tortures, abductions, intentional targeting of civilians. These are the actions of a terrorist state. There is no way to justify this behavior. I am up late in the once land of the free writing this article, but when I'm done I will still wake up in the morning; the victims of Putin and his cronies ambitions have had their lives forever stolen from them, and many more struggle right now for their freedom.

Tens of thousands of innocent Ukrainian civilians and their brave defenders have died...And for what? A bunch of lies about Nazism? One man's egocentric desire to create some sort of new Russian empire? All he has succeeded in doing is damning whatever legacy he would have had, and uniting practically the entire world save for a few other terrorist states against him. While there are clearly some Russian people opposed to this catastrophe, I am profoundly disappointed that most sheepishly sit by, and many even submit themselves to go and die for some of the worst reasons that a war has been waged in modern times. If there was ever a time for a revolution, clearly it is now.

This war will continue to go on for who knows how long, and more lives will be needlessly lost, creating a lasting hatred between neighbors as a result. Now the entire world is threatened with even the prospect of nuclear war. If the CCP Chinese government decides to militarily support Russia, then this will be a major step on the road to World War III.

I find myself puzzled that some people who identify as conservative could not be in favor of doing everything we can. It is a lot more mixed than it should be. Are we not the champions of freedom? My criticism of the current administration is that they have not done enough. If I were in charge Putin would never have dared to take this irrevocable and massive mistake on February 24th of last year, because it would have meant war with us if he did so, but alas, without getting more directly involved(which I favor), all we can do now is get as much aid as fast as possible to the Ukrainians.

For those advocating for Ukraine to sacrifice land for "peace", these people have learned nothing from history. You do not appease despots by giving to them what is not rightfully theirs. Peace should come with the invaders expelled from Ukrainian territory, reparations made for the monstrous destruction and suffering that has been incurred, and with all war criminals being brought to justice. I only hope and pray that it will cost as little blood as possible to achieve.

Remember that this war did not begin a year ago. It began in 2014 with the illegal annexation of Crimea, and then with the support of separatist groups in the Donbas, all propped up by Putin and co. We can even go back further and trace it to their test run in Georgia. But over the past year things have grown ever more concerning. I only wish I could somehow fix everything. I can only try to follow the example of a great man who once stood up to an all too familiar evil empire....
