Pfeiffer for President - Breakfast Can Wait

This morning, I bring you a magical tale.

Last week, an ethereal being cloaked in smoke appeared to me. He came with an admonition which could not be ignored.

Realizing that I had no choice, I immediately got to work.

Knowing without a doubt that fingerguns was ready to roll, I got down to business in fleshing out our crew. However, I knew that simply drafting people into service doesn't always make for the most invested team. So I put the call out, searching for those hoping to help us get the job done.

Then something terrifying happened.

Only one person requested a specific role prior to last night (when I was drafting this).

Kody5. wished to serve as Chief of Staff. A role he covets, and in fact requested last month. This month, he has won the job...because you gotta respect that hustle. He's got the skills, he will be the task master we need, and I'm going to have fingerguns keep on top of him with publishing the WHPR, because you know she's good at doing that.

Where's the hunger, people? I got a couple messages with people offering to 'help if I wanted', or expressing vague interest in 'learning', but I shouldn't have to beat them over the head to get them to tell me what they want to help with or learn about.

I'm hopeful that fingerguns work with domestic programs will help to grow that hunger within our newer and/or less experienced players, and maybe shake some of the apathy off the bones of our older players. We've all been there, I've been there, but if we're going to keep this community alive, we have to get moving and kick things into action.


Gotta get hungry

Beyond VP and Chief of Staff, I once again will not be fully delegating State. I will use the institutional knowledge of people like Wild Owl and khotko to inform my decision making, but for at least the first fortnight of the term, I will be handling foreign affairs directly. I don't want anyone outside the USA thinking that there is anyone but the elected President driving this ship of State.

Israel Stevens will be taking over at Defense. He's perfect for this role, because he's got stuff going on in real life which will prevent him micromanaging the people under him. His job will be to be the task master. There is a lot that is and will be going on with Defense, and he will be responsible for kicking them into gear and ensuring they are working towards accomplishing their goals. He is up to speed on what is already planned there, and so the learning curve is minimal. Everyone involved knows and respects him, and that's what we need in this job right now.

Guys like Senry and WhydoIbotherToo will be helping with priority updates, and I'll be adding people to that group as necessary, based on suggestions from MU leaders. Their roles will expand or contract based on the needs of the ever expanding bureaucracy.


I will be hosting another ELECTION DAY edition of The Pfeiffer Show for most of tomorrow. We will definitely be playing some games like Quiplash and Fibbage, but we will definitely 100% talk about election stuff first and whenever people have questions. So post up questions in the comments.
