On Decline
Artemis Bane
Last night I watched a fellow Canadian and a member of one of the major militias, bazooka tank almost 600k additional damage on a battle that was already 80% secure in our favor in an attempt to snipe a BH. In the last 3 minutes. I’m saddened by this blatant and wasteful spending of resources when around the e-world, contested battles decided by a fraction of a percent are being waged, where this damage could be much needed. It upset me to the point where I actually felt compelled to write.
I believe the entire population of the game has had a change of views ever since the advent of daily bazooka and energy bar handouts. I don’t doubt for a second that it has helped level the playing field. Anyone can become a Bazooka Hero with a little hoarding and a few weeks time. The monetary investment that used to be required from legitimate tanking is gone. An effectively free 5 gold bonus a month from that is certainly good to have (Because how often do you see 3 million damage not get a BH medal?) so why would you not want to take the opportunity to profit?
With more battles, more alliances and a true around the clock battle system it has become a nightmare for a game based on regional players and affiliations to constantly direct resources to the correct place. We’ve all seen it, players staying up to the wee hours of their country’s time zone to cherry pick for their first medal. When almost all officers and government officials are asleep or offline. Now we’ve made great strides with the MU Coordination Network and the battle orders script, but let’s face it. If they’re interested primarily in themselves, what are the chances they’ll actually care what’s posted?
I’m probably ranting a little by this point, but it’s difficult for me to watch as a concerned member of society. Regretfully, I don’t expect to see a change any time soon. Everyone is concerned with making as much profit from their limited resources as they can. It’s like the basics of Capitalism and market economies, which the game’s system is based on. There can’t be a solution until the game’s society shifts viewpoints again. No one sacrifices anymore unless they can afford to quickly recoup any losses.
Alliance and country dedications wane as everyone exists in a state of perpetual World War. You stop caring the 15th time you fight over the same region in the Serbia vs. Croatia battle. You give up the 5th time that the UK attempts to RW an oil region we’re holding. You look for any other battle besides the Mediterranean conflict of Greece vs. FYROM that’s been raging since the latter’s inception. Only so many times can you be called on to sacrifice for a conflict that will be restarted inside of 48 hours. The continuous state of regional flux has eroded any interest but private capitalization on temporary events or chances of easy profit.

I realize that I don't have solutions, but I feel, with things as the are, a solution isn't presently viable.
You're right, and now it is worst than a year ago, then, look at your BH in Greece today, stay tuned and good luck!
Well said Artemis. If nothing else, your arguments are concise and valid.
Votado!
~hyuu~
(Though I may come back to this with a better comment later)
I've seen Coda do that too
It's sad that one of our best tanks piles in her damage when battles are over and chases BH medals when she see's someone trying to snipe her
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha #Snipe
The political and administrative modules could use some upgrades.
you can fight in this game?
My vote says screw it. The game is useless anyway.
The BH stealing will continue this way, it's competition for a small piece of the game with not much else to offer. Your right, everybody is getting bored.
Self greed will always out weigh the greater good. The individual is not smart enough to see a larger picture. The problem really lies with the individuals who actually, truly understand this are using that understanding for their own personal self greed.
Solve that and I will kneel at your feet.
Rolo, you're a hypocritical bag of shit.
Uncorporated, there is no "greater good" in a game where nothing matters. The individual is smart enough to stick up for themselves when there is no reason for them to go elsewhere for almost no reason. The problem is with the game, not the players. Stand up instead of spouting utopian bull crap, or do something useful on your knees.
This article is right on point.
