New Ideas ?

First some background info about the writer ….
Joseph Dinero – I am level 15 and still considered a newbie by many standards:
- I have waded through page upon page of info and articles
- Worked everyday for my company (once I figured out it was beneficial)
- Join a political party and Eagles III militia (once again very beneficial)
- Fought the good fight for eUS and followed the DOD orders the best I can…etc.
And through this all, I have come across some lingering problems that I will pass onto you in the coming issues….
TODAY’S ISSUES: Where do YOU live? The Wasteland or Sushine/Hollywoodland?
There really is no benefit to the wasteland except company production, “regional loyalty”, or congressional voting. I have thought of a two ways to counteract this.
1. Retention of ACTIVE citizens – we have a large number of organizations that help – Meals on Wheels, Welcoming Committee, etc., but what we need to do is focus all the benefits into one package.
We could give them all of the options of help, military groups, and even political memberships all in one area. This could even generate some money in the form of advertising for the military and political groups for a cheap price (nothing better than a fresh captive audience – no?). The more involved in those things they are, the more likely they are to stay.
One of the most confusing things with getting involved with this game is finding help when you need it. A lot of people end up “dead” just from lack of helpful info. I also believe that it would be EXTREMELY beneficial to have an ACTIVE member be the mentors for the newbies. Nothing easier than just sending a PM and getting the answer (which would include ways of getting additional info on the subject).
2. Regional Benefits – You have to fight to help you level up right?
We could change the infrastructure of the government to include regional options. Organizations (states) would become the beneficiaries of tax money that is to be used to only benefit that region. The amounts would be based on the populations there and could be used by the Congressmen from that area for any reason. That would also give you a GOOD reason to vote for that congressman other than the betterment of the nation on your behalf.
The Infrastructure could even be changed to the point of a portion of the local taxes staying local – which would encourage local business and employee development.
Also, it is in my opinion that we DO need additional defensive positions. I am not pushing for them in every area; we want to be fiscal with our money, but definitely in strategic places that we want to protect. It has happened in the past, that an additional defensive point would have been very beneficial to this country. Other countries have already had baby booms and are leveling up as we speak.
Just looking towards the future benefit of all of the citizens of eUS!

Always good to see new ideas from newbies like myself. 🙂
I'm in favor of building up the so-called wasteland, so your idea for creating state level funding is great. I'm not sure I'd give sole authority over the funds to a federal-level official. Perhaps someone working at the state level in cooperation with the congress member?
Thanks for posting!
It shouldnt happen. I used to want it to happen, but we should keep our format now, or put them in the top largest states (Mass. NY. Texas) And putting them in Regional areas like you say would just encourage people to stay where low lvl hospitals are.
In addition to that we can use all those states to retreat from because they are worthless now
I miss my native Texas and would love to move back. I wonder how many of those "eForeigners" are from those "wasteland states" and would love to come back to eUSA if only they didn't have to live in Disney World or Hollywood? That would leave their loyalty open to the highest bidder.
The past couple of administrations have had their chance to build up the other states and haven't. Now that you mention it, I feel kinda butt-hurt. Next time I'll be sure to vote on a candidate with "wastelanders" in mind.
Now that you mention it...Screw all these oranges...I'm moving back to Texas. I'm not going to fight 5 times a day for a country that won't even put a hospital in my state!
Remember the Alamo!
What would you suggest the regional money be used for? As far as what the government can officially do in game, it can only buy the defense systems and hospitals. Putting down new hospitals and defense systems gets debated alot, with the usual outcome of "we're staying with the fortress state strategy".
If we use our imaginations, it can also be used for tickets, weapons, etc. - this will also coincide with the "help the militias" concept. The "local" government of the congress men/women would be the only debaters. They can be replaced in the next month if people do not like what they're doing. This way the wasteland development is focused with population and resource bias as opposed to who wants what in the federal government. The creme will float to the top. If enough people feel it is worth it, then they will want to invest in it.
