Appealing to the nationalistic sentiment of the Japanese in eJapan is a losing proposition since there are no to few Japanese here. Also the historic location of a battle matters little, since after all, one side has to be the other sides country.

The real life politics are interesting, but more important is the effects on the game. As usual, the Admin made a poor choice to even add it; it will simply be another PTO-land or permanently occupied NE of eSerbia (and possibly Admin added it to get more RL Serbs to play).

Did anyone think the poll was silly? What if more eSerbs / ONE voters had voted for "eKosovo as part of eSerbia"...? So eSerbia gets another home region that cannot be RWed away. That would not have any game effect at all UNLESS the Kosovo region had saltpeter or rubber (which eSerbia needs and currently does not have) to help eSerb's economy.

Another silly game change instead of fixing what's wrong with the game (media and politics module).

Yep, the option "leave Kosovo as a grey spot on the map and fix more important things" is clearly missing.

Greenland should be added to Denmark and the island of Bornholm switched from swedish to danish territory (as it is in real life. Also add Falkland Islands as a separate region of UK and I could go on and on and on. The ONLY reason there's a vote about this is because admins got tired of the hundreds and hundreds of mails, tickets, newspaper articles and forum posts (before it closed) about Kosovo. Every other nation in the game is somehow missing something more or less important but the Serbs had to fucking whine about it for two years.

The Kuril Islands are a RUSSIAN territory, not Japanese. That comparison makes absolutely no sense as those islands are mostly unpopulated and not seeking independence from an oppressive country. Also, who cares about some obscure ancient battle the Serbs fought there? What's important now is the present. Kosovo is an independent nation; it is recognised by 86 other nations INCLUDING Japan.

The islands were divided fairly at the first treaty establishing relations between Japan and Russia in 1855. In 1875, Japan gave up claim to Sakhalin Island in exchange for Russia give up claim to the Kuril Islands. After the Russians lost the Russo-Japanese War in 1905, Japan took the rest.

If Russia had helped in the war against Japan, maybe they would have a claim. But Russia declared war on Japan on August 8, 1945, after World War 2 was basically over, and tried to steal as much land as it could before the war's official end made Russia's attack look ridiculous and greedy. Kuril Islands are Japanese.

Japan controls a few of the southern islands, but Russia has control of a majority of the islands. The islands are legally Russian territory, but thats not the point of this article. Kosovo should be an independent nation. So what if it's not as powerful as Serbia. The act of granting it freedom is very symbolic move. It shows that the world could change. So if you are a real person, you should look past these petty alliances and think about what's right.
