Quimbie, you sir have made the correct choice. It seems that CW leaders are stupid enough to forget that I beat their glorious leader with a campaign of "Anyone but Tyrael". So if he couldn't be that, how exactly are the current CW nubs going to beat Rylde?

Wally, I wasn't in the loop. I have no idea what CW's plan is. This election is between Rylde and EDP. The CW candidate is an also ran.

Given the close political relationship that was formed between Clan Wolf and the CPF, as we sponsored a CPF candidate last month to assist in preventing a Coalition split vote, CPF would have no problem returning the same in kind by sponsoring a CW candidate this month. This would prevent any split vote issue.

Ya but, the stronger, established candidate already exists in EPD. This isn't about taking turns. It's about winning elections.

Why is it when a political party decides it wants to run a candidate it is deemed to be stupid or counter Canadian?

That is not choice.. That is a ultimatum. Vote for my guy or you vote for the wrong guy.

Canada in real life has 4 parties that we can vote for each time.It seems to be working fine. Why do we want to move to an american type 2 choice system

I stay in CW not because I am ignorant or because I am a fool.
I stay because of the support the leaders give to each other and our potential to grow and become something great.

We are a relatively new clan in the point that Tyrael stepped down only 2 months ago to allow us to try to take the clan in a new direction.

Did we all fight over the spot? No.. We bonded and worked together to make things better.
We improved and learned eachothers strengths and weaknesses so that we would help to move the clan up.

We are new and we have some great members. Do not count us out as we are only getting stronger as we work together and move onwards.

I believe that it runs counter CW's best interest, and maybe the best interest of eCanada, to run a candidate in this election. Why? Because you can't win. There is no one member of CW that can beat either EPD or Rylde. I made my decision known, because I was hoping that CW might stop being naive and can its rigid sense of morality and come to terms with the fact that if they wanted to keep Rylde from becoming the next CP, they should vote for the candidate that can beat him and that's EPD.

I dont see Rylde in the running for any party right now as I dont see CW in the running.
Telling people not to put someone out to learn and experience the system because "They cant win" is some of the cruelest words I have ever heard.

One can learn from running and get their name out.
One can grow from the experiences and do better the next time.

Just because 1 candidate runs with ideas that terrify or upset you does not mean all democracy and reason should be thrown out the window.

EPD is a great person I agree. But it is Canada as a whole who will decide what path hey want to take.
What right is it of anyone to belittle a group and say they shouldnt bother practicing their democratic rights to put out a candidate because its deemed "useless"

I do not agree with the policy of Wally or Rydle but I support choice.

And Rydle deserves the chance to campaign and put his name out just as much as EPD or whoever CW may put out.

When you give up choice for fear then you give up freedom.
I really really hope that this simmers down so that we can move on to a proper election.

Everyone wants what is best for Canada and everyone has their own path to get there.
People need to vote for what path suits them best. that is all

The problem with that all that, is not the virtue of all your ideas, but the potential damage they might cause. A CW candidate weakens the chance that EPD has at winning this election. Crunch the numbers, factor in some trickery and subtract the 80 or so CW votes and Rylde will certainly be neck and neck with EPD. It's simple math really. I don't want Rylde to win. I have always campaigned against his style of politics. EPD is the man of the moment, he has my vote.

I think you are giving Rylde way to much credit and the eCanada voters too little credit. He won't be a threat unless you make him a threat.

EPD is a nice guy. He brought civility to government. But he also lost the whole country taking on a fight we never had a chance at winning. As such, there is some serious opposition among the electorate to voting him as CP again. We will be that represented opposition. If we don't someone like Rylde will attempt to make it his mandate.

I think you are too close to this one Quimbie to see that people are going to be going after your friend for the Country wipe. It's an easy issue. It affected every eCanadian. And it will be a simple sell to the voting public.

Unless a CP royally messes up or is quite absent in his duties, it is usually a good idea to have a CP run for a couple or more consecutive terms. One-off CPs have little forward progress. A good CP establishes himself in the first month and starts off gathering momentum for the second term. One month is a short time and it often takes longer to get something large (like building alliances) developed.

If they feel EPD did mess up or if CW presents a candidate with a stronger platform and vision, then CW should suport its own candidate. However, feeling that EPD did a good job but promoting choice takes precedence over securing safe and proven leadership, then that's a style of gameplay others may not agree with.

I'll be supporting EPD because I think he has the right intentions and it will be good to see his Poland NE gambit pay off in the next term.

EDP could have spent the first month building alliances before attacking an country allied with Poland. It was a civil government. The first in a long time. I actually enjoyed it. If he kept the status quo, worked on alliances, his second month would have been a lock. I seriously don't know how he thought it was going to play out. Maybe he just tried to do too much to fast.

This intrigues me from an "Old Balls" perspective.

The most historical political backstab in eCanada's history came at the expense of the CPF. Deals were struck, endorsements were made, and when it came time for the CPF's candidate to get the push into the big chair the then PP of the DAL decided that he didn't need the CPF after all and nominated his own candidate that wound up winning then pulling a Wally and disappearing.

If a deal truly was struck between the CPF and Clan Wolf, I think those details should be made public.

There was no deal beyond CW supporting EPD last month, and a cooperative Congress. CW seems content to sever this relationship and push it's own agenda. Which is, in my opinion, political suicide, but also their right.

The CPF and CW enjoyed a good relationship and helped each other last month. There was no 'deal' where we said, nominate ours this month and we'll nominate yours next month. We did it for a better eCanada

That being said, the CPF will hold its monthly primary to see who the majority of party members want to see elected, we will not force them to choose a single candidate. If EPD wins, then we nominate EPD. If a CW candidate wins we nominate the CW candidate. The democratic system will decide

No deal was struck. When Quimbie was PP we kept in constant communication and mended the discord between our parties. I have heard very little from Mochan Drust since he was elected, and as evidenced by these recent developments, it appears our relationship is again in jeopardy.

No worries about CW - CPF relations. Quimbie is playing it a bit dramatic to assist in his friend's EPD's re-election. The more noise to look where he wants you to look the less likely you will look where he doesn't want you to look. It's a good tactic, but then no one ever said he was dumb. 🙂

Denying them the chance to vote or root or see one of their members on the podium is catastrophic for the health of the clan

Klop I have never told anyone to vote for a specific person minus the past PP elections with the whole Wally thing.

For CP I hope people vote for our person but I never said "I am voting for this person. you should as well" If the members of CW want to vote for EPD then they can.. No one told them they could not.

All we said was we are going to run a candidate... As one of the top political parties in the country it is our duty to provide a candidate..

Okay and another honest answer is. For what reason would our 116ish members have for staying in CW if we go month after month of not putting people on the block and continue to promote other leaders of other parties?

I understand and respect what you are saying Klop. Currently we do not have a prelim vote system in place for election day including all the cadidates. It may come in the future but for the time being our members can vote for whoever they want on election day without anyone knowing who they voted for.

That would be one for Mochan to consider 🙂

I think underneath the 'who said what to who' is still a bit of shock regarding Quimbie's current behavior. When he was in Clan Wolf I think it would be fair to say that everyone here regarded him as a trusted friend. Now that is out of the party his demeanor, attitude and opinion is completely different then just a couple of days ago when he left.

I'm choosing to believe he's still a nice guy and just wants to support something different with a great deal of passion.
