The decision of the US Supreme Court overturns, after five decades, the case law of Roe v. Wade and the constitutional effect of the right to abortion. It assigns an emblematic conquest of women and a fundamental manifestation of their personal autonomy to the discretion of the legislator. An issue that is valued and historically at the core of individual rights inevitably returns to the correlation of the moment and the pure power of the majority, depending on its ideological and moral prejudices.

The case law of the Court is not just a strong crack in the rights, as we perceive them in modern rule of law, as the strongest reason we have against the arbitrariness of power. Nor is it limited to the sudden rupture of judges by the credibility and legal functioning of the institution. It marks, at the same time, an open cultural conflict in the already divided America, with wider social and political implications. For women, especially the vulnerable, who will not have the luck or the financial means to exercise their right to progressive states, the only escape left is illegal practices and controversial pills and preparations, the hidden and painful life without right, the devaluation of human dignity. Behind the lines of the US Supreme Court ruling and the method of grammatical or historical interpretation of the US Constitution lies the threatening political and cultural revisionism of our time, in its most symbolic legal formulation.


The early fetus is NOT yet human, like a pure ovum that is expelled from the period or a pure sperm that is destroyed by the male organism. It has no consciousness or personality, no central nervous system, no electrical signals, no brain experiences, no senses, no thoughts and/or no emotions. They are a bunch of faceless cells that will become human. Science, its instruments and microscopes that are the same worldwide, will tell us when life begins with a human identity and therefore human rights. No religious tradition, from anywhere in the world, will tell us.

So the early fetus can not rise above the will of a fully developed, living woman for her life. It can not be a carelessness, an arbitrariness of an asshole who took off a condom or did not stop when he was asked for, a sudden rape by a trusted person behind closed doors (although the above are complete rapes as well) or any other kind of rape or an misfortune to bury an existing life and condemn a life that will exist to be undesirable. You have no right to push desperate creatures on the bent hanger or in the boiling water. Nor can you make any woman change her will and her dreams for the future based on your own religious beliefs about her role, or even take the risk of a pregnancy without wanting to. An unwanted newborn baby who is really human and will suffer is a bigger problem than aborting 1000 zygotes.

Also keep in mind that in order for a fetus to feel pain, the neural pathways that carry signals (eg pain) from the body to the brain must be connected to the cerebral cortex. This does not form before 27 weeks, so the fetus can not feel pain. As for the claim that they want to live, did anyone asked them and got an answer? Some others say that if you do not want a baby, give it for adoption. But it does not cross their minds that most of these babies are not adopted. Some because they are born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Other babies are born with drug addiction, and suffer from withdrawal symptoms. Other babies are born HIV positive. Other babies are born very ill, or mentally retarded. People who want to adopt do not want these babies. And so, they spend their whole life prisoned in an institution. In America, there are currently more than 400,000 state-dependent children living in orphanages and foster homes waiting for someone to adopt them. Unfortunately, all "soul mates" are only interested as long as they are in a woman's womb. Once it comes out, they all disappear in case they were asked for help.


Ιn plain terms, your holy books will not tell us when human life begins, because they do not have laboratory instruments. We have to leave the medically safe abortion as a personal choice, EXACTLY because it is not a toy and is not allowed to go to the hanger and the branch. And yes, if you demand a moment to be paid by two or more innocent lives, alive or future, you are misogynist.
