Explanations, situation and choices
Clopoyaur
Hi South Korea,
In these moments I feel the need of explaining a few things that are maybe unclear for many of the players living in South Korea.
According with the new resources allocation, each country can have bonuses for productivity depending on the resources the region they own posses. There are 2 main industries:
a) Raw materials
b) Finished products
The raw materials are grain and iron. If a country has at least 1 region of one kind, it means that the workers from the companies located in that country will receive a bonus of 25% in productivity.
The finished products are food and weapons. The bonuses for the manufactured industries are consisted of small parts of 5%.
For each region with at least one of the resources for food, a 5% bonus is granted. The bonuses for food industry are: grain, fruits, fish, cattle and deer. If a country has 2 of them (let’s say fish and grain, like South Korea), all the companies producing food will have a 10% bonus for the productivity of their employees.
The same applies for weapon industry. The bonuses for weapon industry are: iron, oil, aluminum, saltpeter and rubber. If a country has 3 of them the bonus for all the workers is 15%.
To summarize: South Korea has in this moment 25% bonus for grain (maximum), 25% bonus for iron (maximum), 10% bonus for food (has grain and fish in Taiwan) and 10% bonus for weapon (has iron and aluminum)
For bonuses it doesn’t matter if the country has 1 region of a kind or 10 of a kind, the bonus is given only once. This is the main reason why many nations started to make land swaps, for each country to get as high bonus as possible, giving away low populated region with resources they already have for regions with resources they need from other countries.
The purpose of all land swaps is higher productivity for both nations involved in the swap. Why is that so important? Because higher productivity means more products for the same amount of salary paid for companies. More products made for the same price, resulting in lower prices on the market for weapons and bread. Lower prices mean better fire power for all the soldiers of the nation, because they can buy more bread and more weapons with the same money.
Now South Korea is not a big nation in E-Republik but had the chance of receiving very valuable regions with a total bonus of 65% out of 100% possible. Additional resources for the country can be obtained in 2 ways: trough force by conquering other countries regions or trough land swaps (with controlled war). Every citizen of this nation knows the first option is not accessible since our military force is not big enough for a real war. This is why land swap is the best way and the cheapest solution for the country to get as many bonuses as possible.
The swap with Taiwan was a success for our side, as for almost 1 week now we control Central Taiwan, a region with fish, that booster the food productivity with 5% resulting also in a bread price drop in the last days. The price we paid for that was giving away Jeollabuk-do, a grain region, low populated from our country.
Taiwan balance: We gaved away Jeollabuk-do (35 citizens population), we received Central Taiwan (100 population). We have also obtained a war direct for our country, an excellent opportunity for the army to test its skills. Judge for yourself if that was a fair deal for us.
Unfortunately, Taiwan lost the region we gave away because of a RW, this is why, they restarted the war in order to take back that region. Again, nothing problematic there, just preserving the original deal.
The possible land swap with China: China would of have got 2 regions from us low populated again (40 and 43 population) with aluminum and grain and we would received in exchange 1 cow region (for additional 5% bonus on food) and a rent of 110 gold/month. Given the weakness of our army, safety measures were necessary, this is why, in the deal was stated that if we lose the cow region, China would pay us rent for the second region also. This would mean 220 gold/month, more than half of the income per month for the whole South Korea. Also, China agreed to pay the restoration of the MPP we could lose with Romania and support in getting the region we need to take.
What is the alternative? To stay inside our borders and watch the other nations grow, while we can grow also? We lose 2 regions with 80-90 population in total, but we receive 1 region from China with 120 population. The population of the country will remain almost the same. Also the ones stuck in a conquered region could come back to the country using a 1 region ticket. All the countries in the eWorld seek for progress and for better productivity bonuses. Why South Korea must be an exception. Why a worker to produce 25 breads when it can produce 28? Why to have higher prices when we can have lower ones? Why to oppose progress?
Poland conquered Germany, Hungary conquered Ukraine, Spain conquered Venezuela, USA conquered Mexico. Overall, big countries conquered smaller ones. We, South Korea, as a small nation, have the chance to be independent and still, have higher bonuses. Dear congressman, what path do you choose?
Mediocrity or progress?
Clopoyaur,
President of South Korea

If they (koreans and others) want to read and think what you wrote, would be very good, but they see only revenge. nobody thinks of little korea.
Progress is the wright choice.
I said it yesterday... minutes after law was proposed. First article, after that laws ...
It`s normal not to pass this law.... after this two article.. I think can pass 🙂
I think you are overestimating your policy, the food price is dropping because the companies are overstocking and there arent enough consumption to match it, this is especially true for low Q food.
You ask what is the alternatives, it is pretty simply, instead of swap land for land, you can swap for gold instead, and you use the gold to pay for a tax cut for businesses and workers, isnt that simple? and you dont have to worry about some BH medal hunter going after you.
and of course, the least you could do is to discuss it with the congress members. This is not an executive decision, the congress should have know about this swap proposal and they should be making this decision, not just you.
Much more productivity if you simply eliminated the harsh minimum wage practices this government put in place.
@Myung kei The job market has now a minimum salary for level 1 of 17 KRW which is much greater than the one set by the government. Your statement has nothing to do with eSK reality.
@roland_up You should be able to think for yourself. But if you blindly vote always NO than your place is not in the congress. You have questions? There are 24h for debate for each law. Use it. Ask the law initiator. Get yourself involved if you care don't expect others to involve you. We need to be flexible about the state decisions ... why should we always wait for a majority first?
미안 여기 한국임 ㅇㅅㅇ
big vote!SK HAS TO CONTINUE RISING!FOR A BETTER SOUT KOREA!
This is a good basic explanation of the forces at work but it doesn't provide the figures that would help explain how owning cattle (5😵 booster is better then receiving 110G extra a month or how badly skewed the deal with eRoC is as they receive a 25% booster to Grain in return for another measly 5% for eSK.
At best it seems that every 5% boost you get to food is worth 80G a month to you - better to take eChinas money, save yourself the costs in time and money of occupation and work out a better deal with eRoC.
>The job market has now a minimum salary for level 1 of 17 KRW which is much greater than the one set by the government. Your statement has nothing to do with eSK reality.
>17 KRW
>Worth much less then it use to be.
Also...out of tune with eSK reality? How in the world does a 5% increase in food productivity even come close to this country raising 110g a month to cover such costs? eSK cannot continue making imperial land deals with a limited labor force working in grain, small dependency on foodstuffs domestically, and an overall tiny eEconomy. Mircea, I expected you to be at least be in a reality where someone of your stature would understand this.
I think we should take over taiwan's rubber. Or taiwan altogether.
"@roland_up You should be able to think for yourself. But if you blindly vote always NO than your place is not in the congress."
I always back up why I am against something if I dont like something, and I have always been consistent about it. So this is incorrect I support or not support something blindly.
"You have questions? There are 24h for debate for each law. Use it. Ask the law initiator. Get yourself involved if you care don't expect others to involve you."
How would anyone get involve if you have only find out about the swap deal from the presidental article after the deal has been done with the Chinese, which mind you do not have that much detail in it.
The president is ignoring the congress completely and expecting the congress to rubber stamp anything he proposed. NO, you cant do that anymore, the congress has changed, he can't do that anymore. As Veritas Causidicus posted in his article, if he want anything done at all, it is he who need to show initialitive to consult with congress, not demanding the congress to do anything he want.
"We need to be flexible about the state decisions ... why should we always wait for a majority first?"
Because, his decisions/ideas may not be the best or agreed by the majority, I thought you called this democracy yourself, didnt you? Your hypocrisy is showing.
Btw, please ask your friends to vote for this article, we need to top up your selfpwnage for every Korean to see.

I see that many concluded that we need the money, not the swaps. May I ask you, what is the use of getting money if we dont do nothing with them. For 4 terms Grease gathered 1800 gold. What has done with them? Did we had an army? NO! Did we had industry? NO! Did we had wars? NO. Just sitting on a pile of money is not the purpose of this game. Developing the country using the money? Yes, that is the purpose and I hope you agree with me.
I have started as president with ZERO money at hand, still, in less than 1 month an army was built, daily bread give-away for population was created, interesting direct wars were opened, industry started to develop.
Or we could just stay on a pile of money pretending we are developing, while we remain further back in E-Republik. Again, make the choice.
@Myung Kei We are living in the present so the minimum salary is according to the current situation. Not the one you dream of, the past. 10 KRW is more than OK. It is according to the production and current job market.
About the rest of the statement. I do not think that you wanted to say that to me. What I said was related only to what you said about the salary. Don't forget this is a game and hording money is the goal for very few. We need to play eRep with all it offers. That's why you even ca vote NO.
@roland_up You have not convinced me. The congress votes what the executive provides. Most of you are not part of this group. I know you would like to be a part but to "blackmail" for that by voting NO is not the way.
I do agree that the eROC deal sucks. I told it to clopo too. For the economy was good though even with those only 5%. Another good thing were the TWs. Without them the economy would be dead. I do not wish for peace with eROC as it fuels our economy.
The Chinese deal on the other hand is a very good one. We will try to keep the region. It will demand from us a good military organization but will also provide us a lot of fun.
The communication between the president and the congress is not very good indeed. I wonder though if it wouldn't be a wasted resource considering how hostile it is.
@trolling part
Gagamel = blue parrot
Clopayaur - Take the money and spend it.
Grease left the nation with nothing and you've managed to re-build alot of the infrastructure, made improvements and much progress towards making eSK a functioning eNation.
With that record behind you, you should be able to TALK (not dictate) TO CONGRESS and make furthur changes.
Some of them are truly butthurt enough to say no to anything you say but you still have a number of 'independents' who when provided with some detail can judge wheter an idea is sound or not.
>You still have a number of 'independents' who when provided with some detail can judge wheter an idea is sound or not.
Hence the narrow 21 votes the Bank of South Korea vote.
@Mircea
But why have such a high minimum, its the highest anywhere else in the world, no need to kill jobs.
Also, the rest of the statement was, unfortunately for you, was directly for you. You provide no reasons why the region swap should be proposed, I gave a better solution and then counter-argued that the land swap was a fallacy in an attempt to stir nationalistic pride that is non-existent with an angered Korean base.
That and the money gained would be cents compared to dollars of expense.
@Myung Kei About the salary: Because we are smarter. Others will follow our example... soon in my opinion.
About the second part you have to understand that hoarding money is not our final goal. To have an enjoyable game comes first. Why should we just get money when we can also get fun? I think I already said this before. Your better deal would mean just to sit on top of the money and gather it... For what? And btw the expenses are not paid by us, we will get some money and we will spend those money to defend our future colonies.
Progress comes faster when there are challenges to overcome. Sitting and doing nothing is not progress.
@Mircea: Everyone else in the world is running the other direction, who would want to set the standard a small country like eSK "sets"? eSK is no court or salon host to Eastern eEurope politics.
And you justify that we have to have this deal...because we need to spend money? The notion is absurd to any rational person in eAsia, where money is tight and the political scene ever consistently shifting, and an emergency might arise where such funding would be useful. And what "fun" would the average eSK'er get out of it, the chance to gloat about holdings abroad and a marginal if not completely trivial 5% gain in productivity...while at the same time stirring up dissent for giving up home regions? Btw, the expenses are paid by us, in case you didn't notice: Clopoyaur stated this deal would cost 110g a month to maintain. The taxes collected by this productivity rise would be minimal to the overall expense of "collecting future colonies" (another misrepresentation, considering every single "colony" we have had resulted in a "colony" created out of eSK).
Look before you leap, in eEurope you can blow money. Progress is useless without a goal to progress to.
@Myung Kei How do you think progress is done if not with change? (: this is hilarious. There is not reason for us to have a smaller minimum wage other than tax evasion and clones raising. Let this one go... We have no reason to do it like everyone does.. Now stop and think.. I will not try to explain you again this point.
Qoute "The possible land swap with China: China would of have got 2 regions from us low populated again (40 and 43 population) with aluminum and grain and we would received in exchange 1 cow region (for additional 5% bonus on food) and a rent of 110 gold/month. Also, China agreed to pay the restoration of the MPP we could lose with Romania and support in getting the region we need to take."
Where the heck do you see that we pay anything? Please reread the article. All of it. They will pay us rent. In case we will not be able to keep their region they will pay double. Half of the deal it is what you want. I feel that you are make all this statement just because of butt-hurt. And a measly 5% out of 35% is not nothing. It's the edge we need to be in front. To be a more desirable location for investors. To be a better location for everyone in SK, higher wages and lower prices. Stop accusing us of imperialistic desires.
The goal is too keep eSK on the path of evolution. You are clearly a conservator and I do appreciate you point of view but I am not sure you want to have a debate as I sens that you clearly not going to accept anything proposed by us.
The cost Myung is referring to is the cost of occupation i.e fighting to retain these colonies in the face of medal hunters and it would be better in every sense for eSK to accept the 110G over a 5% boost as that boost puts you barely level with other nations.
The only way you can justify the acquistions of cattle and fish is if you can actually complete the set by swapping Jeju to Japan in return for Fruit and Deer - which would require America to move into Hokkaido and maybe you having to offer up one of the Iron regions in return (in case they lose SE Ireland).
Only then will you have the 'edge' of full production of grain and food putting you on par with the top nations although you will be down to 4 core regions.
Grain - 50% bonus (1.5): Native resource + Citizen bonus
Food - 50% bonus (1.5): complete set + citizen bonus
Iron - 50% bonus (1.5): Native resource + Citizen bonus
Weapon - 35% bonus (1.35): Iron + Alu + Citizen bonus
eSK then becomes a food exporter.
