"Starting with day 714 of the New World, the price of signing an Alliance will increase from 30 to 100 GOLD" - wrote the eRepublik Insider. What does it mean for us?
1. End of the 'half word' training wars. It does not affect the ongoing wars (for example, in Lithuania), but one day they will sign a peace treaty.
2. It will be harder to protect the smaller countries (like eJapan) from the biger ones.
I have no more idea, please write in comments, what do you think!

I think this is a big problem for us. We will have to revise the way we do things.
It will mean the end of Training Wars for small countries who will end up falling further and further behind other countries.
Mid-Level countries like eJapan will still be able to take part in the new super-expensive Training Wars but it will put a strain on our Treasury.
Large countries won't need Training Wars anymore as they will be too busy stomping on all the smaller countries who can't afford MPPs to protect themselves anymore!
Way to go to crack a peanut with a sledgehammer admin!
I understand the logic behind the admin's decision... but the fact is that they overlooked the effect of this change has on the smaller countries.
I think that one viable solution is to sign a MPP with one of the big countries.
A thank you to Koppanyi-san for bringing this to the public's attention. Hopefully the Admin will include a change that will make it more expensive for nations with larger populations to declare war on smaller ones.
In the meantime, the Imperial Sun Party will continue to support a budget that allows us to participate in regular training events and keeps us protected. We'll just have to make sure that Finance gives us the correct numbers and work from there to adjust the budget.

this sucks, admins only love numbers, screw the little countries 😐
Sounds like they're promoting war mongering. Countries with bigger economies will undoubtedly fare much better than smaller ones, which means conquest of smaller nations will be easier. More emphasis will be placed on mobile military units - I think we have those. Moving companies can rejoice. 🙂 Then again, more fighting means more gold will be required - and more real money being spent on the game, which means more profit. This is a still a business they're running, after all.
If they're going to make protection pacts one hundred gold, they should set the flat rate for resistance wars to one gold. 😛
Yeah this is pretty gay.
The effect seem that small countries will be suffer. as no1kevlin said, those countries will seek help from strong and big one, that heavier the "work-load" of them for helping small. a real bad thing is, small countries may not be joined together for training and becomes strong.
However, if a big one don't take care of small one, their interests will be affected indirectly, coz the balance changed.
Thus the increase in MPP may not be a shit at all, it depends on how people play with it. but what affect the mid-level country?
Πεινάω!
