eRepublik Economy — Still Stupid and Useless
Exolothreutis II
After my previous article I've received a couple of pointers regarding Aircraft Weapons. So, apparently in order to get any kind of profit (considering utter stupidity of the open market in eRepublik) one must take advantage of the so-called "fill bonus".
So, here's the process:
1. Build a factory in a region with a fill bonus for Aircraft Weapons.
2. Buy raw materials on the market.
3. Profit!
Well, I've decided to test this. If you're like me, probably you already have deployed your first free Holding somewhere, and it's probably not the region with the best fill ratio for Aircraft Weapons. So you have to create new Holding. The cost?
Number of Holding Companies owned * 25 Gold
So, if it's your second Holding it will cost about 12500 LVL. But let's move on. New Aircraft Weapons company will cost you 10 Gold or about 5000 LVL.
Don't bother with Aircraft RAW Materials factory. The most expensive option will yield you 250 materials per worker. With current salary level of 200 LVL it is 0.8 LVL per 1 RAW material in a regular region. With the same 183% fill bonus you can yield about 457 RAW per worker (200 LVL / 457 RAW = 0.44 LVL per 1 RAW material). Still cheaper and faster to buy.
It's even cheaper if there's overproduce. I've bought quite a lot in bulk for 0.40 LVL per 1 RAW.
Ok, you have workers (with 200 LVL salary) and you have enough Aircraft RAW materials, and you have your factory in the region with great fill bonus of 183%. Each worker produces 9.15 Weapons using 183 RAW materials.
Let's do the math:
(183 * 0.40 LVL + 200 LVL) / 9.15 = 29.85 LVL per one Aircraft Weapon
Currently price on the eLatvian market varies between 32 and 34 LVL, so let's assume you can sell for 34. Your profit:
34 LVL - 29.85 LVL - 0.34 LVL (tax) = 3.81 LVL
To make up for all investments you've made you need to sell:
(12500+5000)/3.81 = 4594 Aircraft Weapons
If you produce only 9.15 per pay, you will need 502 days. With two factories, accounting for extra investment, you will need 323 days:
(12500+5000+5000)/3.81 = 5906 AW → / 18.3 AW per day
Just to be clear, I don't really see anyone buying Aircraft Weapons at that rate anyway, so this whole things is purely theoretical and stupid. But I can understand this, Plato needs his money.
Please leave a comment here or for my previous article, as I still haven't finished my Newspaper Mission.

Nice, interesting analysis, in fact for most players is not even recommended to use aircraft weapons since they're expensive and have a durability of only 1 hit (with only +20% for the damage)
But even for products most people use, as food, the profits are still low. And you need a ridiculous ammount of gold to buy a Q7 weapons factory (the only weapon most people use)...
Voted, good article!
For food and weapons I don't even use workers anymore, just work myself, and over time it turns into ok profit. I was interested in Aircraft Weapons because those apparently should stimulate social aspect in eRepublik, since you have to hire workers and can't work there yourself (the same with houses). But demand is simply not there, there's very little incentive to use such weapons at the moment.
