Disgraceful
Stryke Blayde
A 'Hall of Legends', how.....elitist. The magic word that, as far as I know, has ceased to be in eSouth Africa. It never left, oh no it never did. Instead, between all the PTOs and political arguments and 'solidarity', it's just been biding its time until the perfect moment to manifest itself. That picture you see above, would be that manifestation.
This...list... of so-called 'legends' is everything that's wrong with this damn community. Even while dealing with PTOs or political arguments, this community can still make time to showcase everyone who they feel are superior to other eSouth Africans in the community. Under the guise of 'respect', we have some of the following:
Roneli, traitor to eSA
Twilight Sparkle, not even a year old
Tenshibo, an 'all-rounded' legend? Please...
What about people like Miyagiyoda and Bobadyzoo? Champinator? I could probably list many others had I the attention span to try it. Instead, we decide to stick traitors and relatively new people in there, while neglecting many others who did just as much.
In fact, I'll do you one better – how about every last legit eSouth African who's ever cared about the community, why don't they get a round of gratitude? The way I see it, this list is basically claiming everyone on it as superior to all the other eSA'ers, who have all contributed to what this country is and always have. So why then, for a 'Hall of Legends' is every (legit) eSouth African from all 'ages' not on that list?
I despise this list, have hated it since I caught wind of this(due to my inactivity, this was about an hour ago). The only way that list should exist, is if every last (legit) eSA'er is on it. If they all can't be on it, no one should. All eSA'ers contributed to what this country is, they're all legends. Unless of course, certain people pride themselves with being superior to fellow members of their own community?

First.
Voted.
Go make your own list then and we'll add it up.
The list was simply compiled by nominations from the community, you just weren't there to put up all the names you wanted, it's an honest mistake.
You want a list to be the way you like, you should be around when its being drawn up and not complain long after.
You guys are clearly missing the point. He's not complaining about who is or isn't on the list. Rather, he's complaining about the idea of the list.
Well, the other side is - if we don't at least try and remember some of these people, we'll probably forget them all. It isn't a list that is set in stone (in my opinion) and it is more of a reminder to those who have made an impact than a list to flaunt the few that were remembered.
Honestly, I wouldn't be so offended.
Seeing that the list was done by nomination I have to say that this article is disgraceful. I despise this Article, have hated it since I caught wind of it.
BTW, did you make the list?
Stryke didn't make the list. However, he was talking to me on IRC. He was writing this article w/out having seen the final list. It wasn't until I started naming people on the list, and he was half way done with his article, that he even asked for the final list.
"Seeing that the list was done by nomination I have to say that this article is disgraceful. I despise this Article, have hated it since I caught wind of it.

Lol Mark, had a good chuckle !!!!
Why do you contest this and not the community awards? By your logic, dont they achieve the same sense of "elitism"?

@seisan: believe me, he does.
@ Seisan by your logic deriving from Stryke's I am technically a Elitist now? Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah \o/ finally he he he he.......
I think if someone feels they would like to honor some of the players and it's done via nomination and vote I don't see a problem with it....
I kind of agree that it's a little silly, though, it did spark some people to remember old times which is fun.
That being said, I'm a legend and always will be.
I've been an elitist asshole for longer than any of you and I find this article offensive.
Great respect for Stryke, but maybe Stryke is taking the list too seriously. Maybe Stryke should take the list as serious as 99% of those on the list. 99% of the list would not have choosen to be on it anyway, as it does not make a diferance on any level of the game, .
just a game Stryke.
i do not see how being on a list makes one an elitist, it does not state a pecking order to dominate anything :
e·lit·ist/iˈlētist/
Noun:
A person who believes that a system or society should be ruled or dominated by an elite.
Stryke doesn't like it when Rex refers to Stryke in the 3rd person, Stryke is getting upset!
Though seriously, I think everyone's only getting PART of the article. I'm also opposed to the idea that this 'Hall of Legends' is only composed of a certain amount of people, when in reality every player that actually cared about eSA helped define what eSA currently is. If it's a 'Hall of Legends', then why isn't every legit eSA player on there?
Stryke, overreaction. IMO it was just a way to remember how we got to be the way we are. Not better or worse than anyone. just history. and I like history. It gives me a sense of continuity and being part of something that was here before me, and hopefully will be here long after I am dead.
@ stryke, i was not speaking to you, was meant for those that understands, not adressed to you since we already know you taking it too seriously. Second part WAS adressed to you, directly. Sorry you upset, but it just puts everything in perspective, it shows Stryke very easily upsets.
TOO SERIOUS, dude, relax, and play the game : - )
Why is Ronell on that list?
I nominated her.
Can you point out one other South African that did more to unite eSouth Africa (even though it was against her)?
Her actions affect the country to this day a few years on.
How much did you do a week ago that affects eSA today Stryke Blade?
Even though I disagree with my name being on that list, I find this article offensive.
