Democracy Vs Dictatorship : Yay or Nay?

Good Morning ladies and gentlemen. Let me be the first to stay that i am proud and astonished at the discussion my previous article has triggered.
It got me thinking of how best i can utilize my humble newspaper to stimulate and encourage such discourse between eIrish men and women.
My Idea is this, Once a Week, I will publish a debate article. This Article will contain no bias from my part and i shall only present the facts to you all, it shall contain either a contentious topic or an outright silly one(I gotta keep up my humor quota after all)
And so, without further ado, I have decided to test this idea out today.
This Week's Topic: Democracy: Yay or Nay?
With so many people arguing for and against the current style of government in power and a few fence sitters in between, it is time that the eIrish Public have their say and make themselves heard.
For the Democracy side we have these Utterly Democratic Facts and General Assumptions:
1.A Democratic Government gives more power to the parties, hence there is less of a chance of things becoming stale as CP holds the power and an election for the post is held monthly
2. A Democratic Form of Government puts quite a bit of power into the hands of Congress who can now use their administrative tools to full effect.
3. A Democracy can be a government of the people rather than just a select few
4. There is a lesser chance of cronyism.
5. No one person can just change or ignore the constitution.
6. People elect their representatives,who in turn will hold real political power, making most elected officials respond to what their voters want and need so they may get elected for a second term
And here we have the facts and assumptions Of the Dictatorial Side who are only here because their families were kidnappe
1.A Dictatorship is not slowed down by so called due process and do what they believe is best, ignoring or eliminating opposition , But in a Democracy,through elections Certain Parties or Individuals can still hold overwhelming amounts of power, rendering opposition faint or nonexistent anyway
2.Congress oftentimes takes a lot of time to come to debate then come to a decision, A Dictatorship would click once and the voting would be complete
3. A Government of The People is more at risk of degrading to Mob Rule (Think: The failed attempts at recreating Athenian Democracy)
4.Dictatorships have a slightly higher chance to be corrupt and engage in cronysim since one party/individual would hold most if not all the power
5.A Dictatorship can bypass or down right ignore the constitution.
6. A Dictatorship will finance a strong military to fight it's foreign enemies at the risk of ignoring the social and economic developments a country would need.
And there you have it folks! 6 facts supoorting Yay and Nay for Democracy Vs Dictatorship. I tried to have it as unbiased and as accurate and factual as possible. If anything has slipped my notice and is biased,inaccurate or untrue then please leave a comment and i shall shoot my editor and re edit the darn thing myself.

Real life democracy, in this game dictator. Good article.
I feel that many of your 'facts' are really just assumptions:
1: Democracy gives more power to party LEADERS, not party members.
4: Party leaders trade key gov roles for political support routinely. Democracy is cronyism's birthplace.
5: Our last Democracy had one guy writing/editing the Constitution... liberally.
6: Players can't vote for a representative they desire. they are forced to vote the whole party.
1: Occupiers may ignore political opposition, but benevolent dictators can't ignore the will of the community.
2: Dictators often debate at length before clicking!
4: Dictators hold all the BUTTONS. buttons don't create power, ppl do.
5: By definition, a dictator has no legislation to ignore.
6: THIS dictatorship funds a strong military. an alternative dictatorship may not.
Most dictatorships i know of acquired and kept their power thru overwhelming military force, it seems idiotic to ignore the very factor that got you in power and has the power to take it back, i suppose my facts are a mix of RL facts and assumptions and eWorld facts and assumptions
Like i said though, I'm doing this to trigger discussion on certain issues

Our Military Dictatorship didnt seize power from an eIrish democracy.
our eIrish gov was under long occupation and had nothing to govern. they contributed nothing to defense and weren't even trying to liberate.
So some old/strong eIrish players got their friends together and fixed the problem. Then Sluagh ran for election, on a platform of keeping that military-industrial union operating to defend the nation, and won.
I agree the situation isn't ideal. But do ya think handing control leadership of the country to guys who are internationally known not to mount a defense, is a good play?

eDictatorship= efficiency and activity (IF the people are willing to be active!)
eDemocracy= a WIPE AND inactivity!
As PP Of a party who values and supports democratic values i will have to say that there is nuance to the situation, as there is in any situation.
I assume that you are basing your views on the previous government led by Mr Hope Smith?
If so, then isn't that a bit of a biased statement about the eDictatorship since you are a part of it?
It is also a bit of a generalizing statement to state that an eDemocracy will mean a wipe and inactivity.
The viewpoint doesn't need to be so black and white.
Both Forms of ideas have their merits.
However I personally believe that a reintroduction of eDemocracy would have more merits than keeping up the status quo.
Whether it is done Gradually or thru revolution, i believe a return to democracy is inevitable.
This statement isn't meant to argue by the way Mr. Fisher, you are welcome to your opinion as i am welcome to mine.

I would welcome any agreeements or disagreements of my statement from my party members.
It would stimulate discourse in my own party regarding an issue as contentius and intriguing as Democracy Vs Dictatorship.
I'm always in favor of democracy. From what I've gathered, the old eIrish democracy was rife with problems and they need to be dealt with and defended against before full democratization can take place, but I will always be in favor of eventual democratization.

So you are NOT ALWAYS in favour of democracy.
Also the rife with problems was because those who are now in power consistently undermined it even to the extent of agitating a foreign invasion and blocking the "Democracy" access to the alliance that was all in place to join and would of defended against that invasion.
They then used a foreigner (yes you Moo) to fund a coup and force out a democratically elected eIrish dictator.
So when you say "rife with problems" be sure you know why.

Mr. Smith, we can argue semantics till the cows come home, but any rational human with even half a brain can understand what I meant and should clearly be able to see that I am, by all measurable standards, in favor of democracy. As for the issue of how the democracy worked, the majority of people in eIreland will tell you that the old democracy was flawed, and if you really are a democrat, I'd imagine you'd at least be accepting of the majority vote. Now, I cannot say for certain, because I was not there, but it seems to me like the old democracy was a nightmare of bureaucratic nonsense, along with hoards of other issues which ultimately led to the coup in the first place. I don't agree with dictatorship by any means, but I feel like it provided a recuperation period from which we could analyze the problems of the old, figure out how to defend against them, and usher in the new. Democracy is good, but it could always become better, and any democrat worth the keyboard their typing on should always look to the future on how to make democracy better, instead of looking to the past and bringing the whole country backwards.

Totally agree but which was exactly what DID NOT happen.
Was it perfect...absolutely not...but far far better than what we have now
Democracy allows for the existence of groups such as the KKKlan or Westboro Church to operate. And should such a group rise in influence to become the dominant force in politics, they try to use that power to exclude other groups.
In REAL LIFE Democracies we enshrine fundamental rules to government to prevent that from happening (effectiveness varies😁), and punish those who disrupt society.
But EREP allows no mechanics for preventing disruptive behaviour. and on the internet trolls can easily represent the *vocal* majority despite representing nothing else at all. And ofc seeing trolls act as a hate group on the internet is nothing new.
You've sorta wandered into such a hate group because the central tenant of ILP's core leadership is the exclusion of other groups from government. It's basically their entire platform. You don't need to take my word for it. If you've been reading the comment sections of Irish articles it's easy to see really.
The only reason there is true dictatorship in eIreland is because ILP leadership refused to work with so many of the community, that they've effectively excluded themselves from government.
The "dictatorship" is composed of EA, LDI, OE, IRF, IFP, members. the only ppl not here are ILP, and they chose that so they could complain about being excluded.

So hate groups exist in democracies but they also do so in dictatorships
Major difference is in a democracy extremes can be reigned in as they are except in vary rare circumstances. However in RL (as here) extreme views are usually the raison d'etre of the dictatorship.
And then there is your little upside down logic where you accuse us of exactly the crimes you are guilty of.

Or Bhane who left because of all your cheating and of course RtK who accused him of making up his cancer... the list is as long as the time you lot are here...I am just the latest victim of your mob.
So forgive me when I scoff at your attempt to claim the ethical side of this game...ethics and you lot are as distance as earth and that new planet just discovered...light years away.
