CP Announcement 3

Day 2,761, 16:44 Published in Ireland Ireland by Anthony Colby

Hello everyone.

I know, I know. “ What is going on with the Premier Election?” “When is it going to be?”

I share your frustration. I really do. According to the original timeline things should have been all settled by now. Well things didn’t go as planned. The Premier Committee, made up of a representative from the top three parties has yet to be sat. Representatives from Omega Eireann and the Independent Labour Party have been chosen and they are Komodor64 and Winston Hope Smith respectively. Eire Aonair, due to rl commitments, and a shortage of active members was unable to submit a representative. The Irish Freedom Party is currently stepping up to fill the void left by EA and is submitting a representative to the committee. Just waiting on the final PMs.

The org to be used by the committee for vote submission is all set.

The committee will have to finalize how they will authenticate the votes and record them.

Once that is done which should be this weekend then the voting should be able to start.

Like I said in my previous messages I want to get this right. This needs to be a fair and honest election. So I feel a little extra time is worth it. I hope you do also.

As well as the Premier election my administration has also ended the training war with the US. We have also re-signed the MPP with Chile as we now have an possibly unfriendly Argentina heading in our direction. While nothing is certain, it can’t hurt to get our house in order just in case.

On the foreign relations front Elite C has been in talks with allies and friends and is currently talking with Italy on a possible joint project that is in the very initial phases. Once things are more finalized I will bring it before the Dail for discussion.

I have also asked the Dail to discuss what we are going to do about Immigration. I made a suggestion about a committee but it was just a suggestion. I ran my campaign on the premise that I would give power to the Dail. I mean it. Immigration was one of those areas where I think the Dail should step up and be more in charge. As of now there has been some discussion but nothing definite. Currently with a Premier in place the Dail members have lost the right to grant citizenships. It now falls to the Premier to grant them and I know that has been happening. I have been assured by Don, that he has been following the procedures that have been used for the last couple of months for approval by asking the questions that have been asked of all candidates. With one person making the decisions there will always be some who will question the objectivity of these approvals. It is human nature to feel that way. With a Dail approved system/committee this will go away. If the Dail approves then someone gets in. No question arise.

I hope the Dail can get something finalized soon. I know this has been a contentious issue in the past. But I am confident things can get worked out.

That is all for now. Once I hear from the IFP I will get the committee up and running so we can get this election underway and move forward.

Anthony Colby

President of Ireland.
