Day 4,600, 18:07 Published in USA USA by Santiago Avelar

This article is about reasons why you should join this party and history that the Federalist Party has, who has political ambitions or even integrating eAmerican society is extremely welcome place for new members, whether newbies or foreigner citizen who has sympathy with our country.

The Federalist Party (Feds) is a political party in the USA that believes USA is as strong as its citizens. Focused on education and service, The Federalist Party pushes for federalism in the eUS and fights for shared responsibility between all parties and the federal government.

Our principles:

1. We are Country-first
2. We believe in federalism and the power of parties
3. We are totally self-reliant and do not believe in political alliances at the party level
4. We are a meritocracy
5. We are newbie centric
6. We are here to help
7. Nation > party > self
8. Erepublik > real life

Our basic platform:

The Federalist Party believes that interests of the country and interests of any party, group, or any one nation as defined within game mechanics. The Federalist Party believes that an understanding of game mechanics by all players is required to have a reasoned debate on the proper course of action and seeks to educate all players to facilitate this. The Federalist Party also understands that knowledge of game mechanics does not imply knowledge of the best course of action for the country and its assembled polities. Determining the best course of action is still a political decision, which must be reached by patriotic and informed citizens.

Social: The Federalist Party knows and recognizes the rights of all playing eRepublik. The most important right people have, is the right to stop playing. As such, it is their right to determine their own definition of success and cannot be infringed upon by other players. It is the job of the political leaders to channel the energies of the citizens of eRepublik into channels where they may be expressive, active, and working towards the goals they have set for themselves in the game; but at the same time satisfying the needs of the country.

The citizens of eRepublik are not playing a game to unquestioningly do the bidding of others.

Education: The Federalist Party believes that the most important part of an eRepublik citizen's experience is the education they receive from other players of the game. In order to ensure that eRepublik citizens are mentored by experienced and respected players through established curriculum rather than being scammed and lead astray by the wolves of eRepublik, the Federalist Party has established a number of its own programs to reach out to new citizens and begin their education in a safe and established environment. The Federalist Party recruits its own experienced members to actively welcome, engage, educate and train all new US citizens. The Federalist Party believes it is the responsibility of all citizens, all groups, all parties, and all nations to provide their citizens with the best eRepublik education possible in order to increase the activity, organization, and sophistication of all citizens. The Federalist Party will do everything possible to advance its own efforts and to support the efforts of others at every level of citizen organization to further these goals.

Political: In order to realize the vision of a society which recognizes the rights and goals of all players but attempts to channel those energies into ends beneficial to the nation and its allies, The Federalist Party is willing to work constructively with all parties and groups to weed out those members of the political class who do not understand game mechanics or who would intentionally demagogue on the misunderstandings of others for political gain. The Federalist Party will also work constructively with any party or group to combat those who it has, through its internal, but transparent and democratic processes, determined to be a threat to the interests of the nation. The Federalist Party does not believe that subordination of the parties to the government is unquestionably the best mechanism for success. The relationships between citizens, parties, congress, and the government; under game mechanics; leave a great deal of room to grant greater or lesser independence. The ideal degree of independence granted to these political entities is a political decision, which must be reached through negotiation and elections through the prescribed game mechanics and out-of-game channels. The Federalist Party recognizes the truth and existence of this process and attempts to work within it for the maximum advantage of the country and its citizens. The relative weight of the needs of the country as a whole vs. the needs of its citizens as individuals is also a political decision that must be frequently reevaluated for maximum national advantage.

Economic: The Federalist Party understands that the constraints of a social strategy game with no 'Real Life' accountability and its own set of game mechanics does not tailor itself to the standard rules of 'Real Life' economics. However, the basic rules of human behavior continue to apply and The Federalist Party believes that businesses should be accountable incentivized by government policy to operate in a manner that will offer them the greatest chances for success and the greatest benefit to the country.

Most importantly, the current state of the political and financial economy must be considered when modifying tax rates in a manner intended to tamper with industrial sector distributions. Special care must be taken not to upset the current system of market adaptations overnight without ample time and consideration provided for adjustment.

Military: The Federalist Party believes it has a solemn duty along with every other party in the US to provide for the defense of the US and its allies. Therefore, it is policy to seek the most efficient means for increasing the overall damage output of the US during wars. The Federalist Party is actively involved in recruitment among its members into the ranks of the US military and other associated military organizations, and likewise encourages its members to register for service in the USAF and to offer their votes to our allies under assault by Political Takeover.

The Federalist Party recognizes the importance of direct military action in efforts to deprive our enemies of resources. The Federalist Party also recognizes the value of the Political Takeover technique of warfare to improve the conditions of the battlefield. The Federalist Party believes, however, that while these techniques are indeed legitimate and often necessary under the game mechanics of war, the goal of any action should be the protection of vital US interests and the liberation of oppressed peoples to pursue the goals they have for their participation in eRepublik, through whatever means they feel is best.

Aggressive wars launched against weak nations for the sake of economic stimulation or resource security are not acceptable and neither are Political Takeovers intended to subjugate the local population and transform the nation under assault into an economic wasteland. Military action should only be undertaken to protect the interests of the USA and to serve the populations under the dominion of oppressive leaders.

Foreign relations: The Federalist Party believes that all nations have an inherent right to self determination protected by the game mechanics and the ultimate right of eRepublik players to quit. The US should not intervene in the affairs of neutral nations unless their actions betray their neutrality. The US should seek to ally itself with like-minded nations through direct military MPP, and economic and political exchange programs consistent with game mechanics for the mutual benefit of the nations involved. Through these means, the US should seek to create an international environment where both adherence to game mechanics and reasonable expectations of honorable and sportsmanlike game play can be upheld.

Government: The Federalist Party believes that a key mechanism for achieving these goals is the establishment of procedures and traditions in congress that all congressmen should be expected to uphold. When members of congress do not follow appropriate and clearly established congressional procedure, their actions should be repudiated by the other congressman on principle, when allowed by the mechanics of the game. Familiarity with the traditions and processes of congress should be expected of all congressional candidates.

Congress is not the place to learn how to play eRepublik.

Conclusion: The Federalist Party believes that its infrastructure and representatives are models that should be followed to offer the greatest opportunity to all citizens and the greatest success to the country. Should the policies described in this platform be followed, it will likewise lead to greater participation and activity from the population of the entire new world and much more of that activity will be aligned with the interests of freedom, self determination, and prosperity, all within the boundaries of game mechanics and the out of game forums which have been established to support them.

Our story:

I interviewed one of main characters of the Federalist Party to present day - Paul Proteus.

Interview with Paul:

Santiago: How did you see eUSA and the Federalist Party when you started joining eWorld and what were the reasons for joining the feds?

Paul Proteus: When I first came to the eUS I was actually a member of the Libertarian Party, but even then the Feds had an incredibly strong community. Everyone in the Feds (I remember Soren Nelson, Cromstar, and MR specifically) played the game with a ton of integrity and were actually fun to work and play with, so when the Libs fell apart, it was a really easy choice and smooth transition finding a virtual home in the Feds.

To fully answer the question, I started playing in eSwitzerland for weird reasons. I saw the eUS as big mostly lol.

Santiago: What is the relationship between feds and newcomers and foreign allies who are acquiring or want American citizenship and how are they helping?

Paul Proteus: I think the Feds do our best to try to engage newer players in the game and eUS, through the community we have and No Fed Left Behind. By the same token, for the Feds to survive, we need new players, especially in leadership roles and as part of our community. The citizenship process is non-partisan and goes through IES, so I have nothing to add to that.

Santiago: What pretensions and objectives when founding the Federalist Party which is being the oldest party of the eUSA and what motivates to still be an active party?

Paul Proteus: The party has had a few mottos, in addition to "Proud/Horny," that we've gotten a lot of use out of, all of which are older than me. One has been "Restoring Government Integrity," and another I like a lot is "Country>Party>Self." I think they do a really good job succinctly summing up the fact that the Feds have always been really good at governing, and have produced a lot of members who care a lot about contributing to the eUS. I think that has helped to give the party as much purpose as a party can have in this game.

Santiago: What were legacies and contributions that the Federalist Party made to eAmerican and eWorld society and politics and what are perspectives for present and future?

Paul Proteus: I could list great presidents we've run, like Molly, or NewAzazel, or Tyler, but I think the real contribution the party has made has been in fostering just really solid players. So many Feds have just been in infinite cabinets working with people from all parties, and still are. I hope the party can continue that. I think Tyler's term has been great and I'm glad that as a party we can support it.

Santiago: How do you evaluate all the moments and actions that Party has had since its founding in October 2008?

Paul Proteus: I've only been in the Party since sometime around early 2012, so I can't speak to the founding. But when I joined, the Feds were struggling to stay in the top 5 and having trouble electing our own candidates to national positions. It was during Malarkey, BigCDizzle, and my terms as Party President that we started to turn that around, and since then it's been really cool to me how well the party has done, and how important the Feds have been as leaders in the eUS. Even as the game has been decimated, and the eUS community has become so hollowed out, I think it speaks to the strength of the Federalist party that there's a still a community worth coming back to.

Santiago: To end the interview, if you want to send a message to article's readers as to potential new party members you can do.

Paul Proteus: Join the Feds, it's a fun time. p/h ^___^

Santiago: Thank you for the opportunity of interview

Paul Proteus: thank you! gl with the article

The Federalist Party (FP) was originally known as the eRepublicans for Change Party (RFC). During a discussion of a rename several members opted to change from RFC to the FP, however, upon further research it was discovered that the Federalist ideology did not, in fact, support the ideology of the RFC. After an internal vote was declined regarding the name change several members decided to leave the RFC and create their own Federalist Party in October of 2008.

The founding members of the Federalist Party believed a more conservative approach to eRepublik was necessary for the long-term success of our nation, so in the early days, the party was firmly hard-right. The Federalists at the time were primarily focused on political prominence, quickly earning a number of seats in Congress. Those early Congressmen advocated a responsible and balanced government, supporting education and transparency. Despite a total lack of recruiting effort, the Federalist Party grew in size between December and January, marking a distinct increase in overall party activity.

In April of 2009, a new era was beginning for the Federalist Party was starting. At this point, many of the founding members had left and a new cadre of members were about to emerge. There were about 80 members in the party at the time, but we were averaging 5 seats in congress every month. Gaius Julius was Party President and for the most part the party was static/nonactive. In the early summer, fingerguns and wingfield pioneered a system for recruiting/activity-building called the Federalist Outreach Program (FOP). After creating the FOP, they set out to reform the whole party; wingfield though, under the pressure, burned out and left. Luckily, citizenslave came to run the FOP when fingerguns was elected Party President. Then a group of younger players emerged as to lead the Party: Alexander Hamilton, CrashNBurn, Captain Panther, The Crimson Patriot, St Krems, and Greene12 all filled roles of the early leadership during fingerguns' Presidency. During this period, many reforms were made that became what we know as the Federalist Party today. Although some of the old guard resisted the changes, resulting in several leaving the party. As the party was overhauled and new departments/jobs were created, the party’s activity grew and it’s membership doubled within a few months. The party continued to be perform well in Congressional elections. During WW3, the party continued to boom due to the Feds’ coordination in evacuating party members from occupied states. Also during this period, many training/educational initiatives were established and the Federalist Party realized the true potential that a party can have. After the end of the American occupation, the Fed Party emerged as the strongest party in the country. Under the reign of citizenslave, who realized the potential power of this party as the Feds hit the top five and the Easy Company Party militia was established, the business department grew more sophisticated and the Federalists rose to prominence in national politics. Also during this period, other parties began to copy the Federalist formula of success. By the winter of 2009 and the start of 2010, the party had stagnated somewhat as most of the leadership had moved on. fingerguns became Party President once again in March and got the party back on track, followed by terms of Greene12 and David Landon. In September of 2010, outgoing Party President Qubert changed the passwords of most Federalist organizations and gave them over to then S.E.E.S. Party President Emerick who held them for ransom. The Feds did not regain access to these orgs and instead switched the majority of their organizational operations to "Sons of Liberty Holdings".

On January 27th, 2012 the Federalist forum was sacked and everything deleted, this was done by the original owner of the forum Feeney Madden, within hours the Feds were able to relocate, but lost 2 years of history in the process.
