Belgium’s Weekly Waffles: 8/20/11

Day 1,369, 09:20 Published in Belgium Switzerland by Monsieur Guillontine

I present to you this week’s waffles:

Res Belgica Resurrected
Presidential Announcements for September 2011

Res Belgica Resurrected

After the past elections for party president, the Bros B4 Hos party finally changed its leadership from shadowukcs to Xgentis Lempereur. Immediately after the new party president was given control, Xgentis Lempereur brought back to life Res Belgica, a party in Belgium that had existed in February 2010, but was transformed into Bros B4 Hos from June to August. Once Res Belgica was up and running again, Xgentis Lempereur published an article announcing Res Belgica’s return, and that they are the defenders of democracy. And with that, the veteran party is back in Belgium, ready for the upcoming Congress elections!

Presidential Announcements for September 2011

Presidential elections are coming up soon, and two candidates have arisen. From the AllTOgethers, Jofroi is running, with his main point being the idea of a merge between Belgium and the Netherlands. On the other hand, representing the Belgian Communist Party, is Monsieur Guillontine, who is completely against such a plan to create a union between two nations. Jofroi is strongly in favor of a merge, as he sees that there will be a large amount of economic benefits. In addition to that, the military would be much stronger. However, Monsieur Guillontine argues that currently, the game mechanics cannot sustain a merge due to the fact that even if the Netherlands is wiped off the map, elections will still be held, therefore the union will technically have 2 Country Presidents, which will cause dire issues. Not only that, but many are against a merge as of now, and what will happen is that Belgium as well as the Netherlands will lose many active, experienced players. Now that resistance wars are even easier to start than before, it will not be difficult for nationalistic Dutch people to reclaim their old territories. As you can see, the idea of a merge is quite controversial, causing Belgian citizens to have to make an effort to contemplate on what they would prefer: a strong, independent nation, or a challenging merge.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Saturday morning waffles. Go ahead and discuss or debate with each other, or even insult each other right below. Remember to check next week for some more hot crispy Belgian waffles!

Yours Truly,
Monsieur Guillontine
