Belgium’s Weekly Waffles: 8/12/11

Day 1,362, 09:17 Published in Belgium Switzerland by Monsieur Guillontine

I present to you this week’s waffles:

First Day in Office: Impeachment
The No Pain, No Gain Act

First Day in Office: Impeachment

With a vote of 8 YES, and 16 NO, one day old president Critically was safe from being impeached. That’s right, on day one, a Congressman named Xironn was bold enough to propose the impeachment of the newly elected president. Why? Because the president told all congress members to support an Import Tax which he did not start a 24-hour debate thread for. Xironn felt that this was an abuse of power, therefore he promptly started an impeachment. And yet, he himself did not start a 24-hour debate thread about the proposal to impeach president Critically. In the end, 2/3 of the congress members felt that it was unfair to impeach the president, even if they felt that what he did was wrong. It would be improper to impeach Critically so quickly, without a discussion.

The No Pain, No Gain Act

Recently, there have been tensions growing in the Congress over the No Pain, No Gain Act. The Act is supposedly a compliment to the Criminal Justice Act, in which it will be used as a tool to enforce punishments, since there is really no way of imposing them as of now. After the No Pain, No Gain Act barely passed with 12 YES and 8 NO, an influential citizen, Konrad Neumann, sought ethical justice and started a debate in Congress for a repeal to the No Pain, No Gain Act. The brave Belgian claimed that by passing the No Pain, No Gain Act, this would only create a slippery slope in which corruption would grow rampant by excluding minority parties such as the Belgian Communist Party and the Bros B4 Hos Party. In addition to that argument, Konrad Neumann questioned whether it was even necessary to include this act when Belgium already had a Criminal Justice Act. Nonetheless, the side which supported the Act, led by congressman NLSP, strongly believed that this law was important in order to apply punishments to those who do crimes, even if the Act is a gateway to producing a toxic environment for laws to be passed which can easily be used as political tools. And so, the debate continues to explode, as both sides cannot find an agreement, either supporting or hindering the No Pain, No Gain Act.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Saturday morning waffles. Go ahead and discuss or debate with each other, or even insult each other right below. Remember to check next week for some more hot crispy Belgian waffles!

Yours Truly,
