Beginning The Movement

Day 3,516, 18:23 Published in USA USA by Azazel Romanov

I thought this was a going to take a few days, but let’s just replace the placeholder now.

I’m disappointed.

Recently I came to an epiphany that I wanted to fundamentally change the way that our country worked. Namely, I wanted all individuals, parties, congressmen, and presidents to be able to operate in any way that they saw fit. I wanted political organization to have no set structure, requirements, or rules. To legalize chaos. So, I proposed to repeal the Constitution. And what happened?

The revolutionaries ran. The Black Sheep packed up and quit. Other fade or lurk. Now, I suppose it is good that they have decided to abandon a system they disagreed with, and that in the past I had pressured them to do so. But I realized a problem with this. The SFP and BSP may be able to organize in-game and do as they please, but they hold no political control with this approach. A majority still dwell upon the forum and hold all the levers of power. Now there is no opposition. Now there are no dissenters. In my last article I called them cowards, and now I am convinced. They have let their anger, frustration, and hopelessness overcome them, and they have left to allow a broken system to continue. I’m disappointed.

I admit that my change of heart might have come too late to sway others to my point of view, but I still must attempt to put my vision in place. I do not wish to flee the forum and wait for another conclusion. Nor do I want to pretend that organizing a minority in-game will fundamentally change the dynamics of our government (Spoiler Alert: It Won’t). I am going to tear the system apart from the inside using its own devices. I am going to give my revolution true legitimacy even to those who obey only the laws of a forum. I will gain control of institutions to burn them, and I will write laws that unwrite all others. I am going to assert my vision in a way the SFP and BSP have never attempted. I will play their game and win.

Those who led the flight from the forums likely promised salvation from its mechanizations, tedium, and torment, but they failed to cripple its control. In fact, they never even attempted to break the system. Your money will continue to feed it, and your absence will continue to empower it. All because you couldn’t stand to be derided for your beliefs. I’m disappointed.

Your false prophets have only served to create a God, no, a Demon. And this cloven hoofed, winged fiend now wins the Presidency without contest. He can select a committee of followers and get anything he wants. And what do you have to show for it? Pride? Contempt? Only fools are satisfied with these emotions.

So, I understand what you’re thinking: wrap up and get to the point. Simple, I want to create a movement across parties to fully repeal the meta-government. Not run from it. Not avoid it. Not wait it out. Repeal. All. Of. It. But I need your help. You don’t need to change your party, your friends, or your hairstyle. Just lend me your congressional votes (and whatever brief time you can give to the forum). You don’t kill a beast by feeding it, you have to tear out its heart. I’ll understand if some of you feel you can’t blast your beliefs like myself, so I can even respect your private support. Just shoot me a message, we’ll organize on our own terms.

We might fail, be ridiculed, and fade away. But we'll have at least tried something more significant. Should we be successful, we'll venture into uncharted territory for this country. Many will resist, but I want to see how this affects the game. For this I desire no power or control. In my old age I have seen and done everything I desire. Now all I seek is some change.
