be P/H, be a Fed, and vote Fed on the 25th.

Hi, it’s been a while.

At times, or perhaps always for some of you, eRepublik isn’t a very attractive game. It has a very limited set of game mechanics and optimization. What you can do in-game is inside-the-box, etc. etc. Yet eRepublik can be an immersive political simulation. There is room here for enjoyment, and there are still creative players. And the key to enjoying yourself is to find a place where you fit in.

For me, this was in the Federalist party. For the people who log on for more than a few minutes per day, who stick around and go on IRC, post on the forums, and get involved, there is latitude to discover within this party. As has been said in the past, the Federalist party has one of the best communities in the game. There is room to make colleagues and acquaintances, perhaps even friends.

Maybe you’re a newb, or someone far more experienced than me. I don’t know. What I do know is that we as a community tell ourselves things, what we will accomplish. Maybe these will happen one day. Maybe they won’t. But if you’re enjoying yourself, then stay and see them to fruition. Work hard. Empower yourself. Don’t be a pawn. You have a chance to build something, to create a new game landscape and mediate real change.

Consider what real change looks like. Is it new players? Is it new policy? Is it a well researched article on the current game state? Maybe it’s all of these things. Maybe it’s none, and you have your own ideas. But what must be considered tantamount is the notion that you are playing this game; you are the person reading this. And you have the right to enjoy yourself by finding a place to have fun and fit in.

In consideration of the upcoming Congressional elections, we must all remind ourselves that this game is about enjoying yourself and working with other people to enact change. I want to play eRepublik in an amicable situation that I can enjoy. And knowing that I’m voting Fed on the 25th, for a party that values the new player, I can be confident that there are representatives of a diverse, mature, and active community who are able to value each group and their culture, while still representing a party that has had the best community in the game.

so be P/H, be a Fed, and vote Fed on the 25th.
